forehand technique

I'm with @tennis_balla and @treblings here - OP is working with a coach already, the question he is asking here should be posed to that coach first.

@harry1111114 - have you had this discussion with your coach? What did he/she say and what are their thoughts on the development of your forehand.

From the couple of shots I can see in the video (although as Balla says, we don't know the effect on the ball of your swing so any comments would be purely aesthetic), there are a couple of things I would look to work on first up, but again you should be speaking to your coach in the first instance.

Harry disappeared. Hopefully he's trying out some of the advice, or talking it over with his coach.

Well, Ash-Smith, my son went to teach academics in northern Spain for the year. He got checked out by the Spanish Tennis Federation as a sideline. Now he has been assigned a bunch of kids and several "very good" teens to coach. I remember at some point your mentioning Spanish on-court drills, no? Well, I never thought it would become so relevant...but I'm happy he's not just in the classroom 14 hours a day.

Now, back to Harry, wherever he is...

@Curiosity - that's cool, congrats to your son :)

Well, thank you for discussing, that day some time ago, the tennis teaching credential he could pursue while in Spain. Someone also posted a detailed description of the key drills advocated. I gave that to the kid. It helped him get the zeitgeist, I think.

Sorry for the hijack.....

Just too much brush, not enough hitting through 4 tennis balls, and wandering feet and body during the forward swing.
Short forehand takeback the majority of the time.

I wish I can post the videos of the 14 year old juniors my boss coaches. You guys would rip the coach apart. He was also a usta high performance coach many years ago. He still brags about it.

Many different ways to coach, and many different receptors in the kids being coached.
Around here, a couple of prodigies in the making, both now 13, but never played each other. One is No.1 in the US in 12's, the other got to No.46 in the nation, but both have the same California rankings when they were in the 12's, and each have completely different coaching. Katie Volynets, and Azaria Hayes.

I"m not saying anyone should ever try to hit EVERY ball as if it needs a 12" contact point, but in the particular case, the OP is just basically brushing up on the ball, and he himself is asking for more power.
More power is hit thru a flatter ball, WITH topspin still. Swingspeed is adaquate for body build and age, and skill level, so more power is had by hitting through the ball more, but still finishing with topspin.
