Perez did look good. Although in Albon's first race he started at the back (took an engine penalty) and pulled off some great moves coming through the field to finish 5th. Essentially the same as Perez. Albon was actually pretty good that year, posted the same time as Max in qualifying in Japan (closest any team mate has got to him in years) and was always top 5/6.. and that was the year where Ferrari were rapid with their "illegal" engine.AM and Alpine both need to eat some humble pie. AM made ridiculous comments about Perez's driving style to shrug off guilt over dumping him late in the season and nearly costing a good driver a ride. Perez already looks like the best no.2 in a Redbull since Ricciardo. Alpine's Cyril said Ricciardo was making a big mistake moving to McLaren. Doesn't look like it, Cyril. Looks like Renault continues to be terribly unreliable, no doubt a big reason behind Ricciardo's move.
I think Perez will be good, but i'll reserve judgement till I've seen him mix it with the top 3 and provide that rear gunner role that they've bought him in for.
Totally agree about Tsunoda. When he gets it right he looks insanely quick, it wouldn't surprise me to see him qualify top 5 a few times this season. His interview after on Sky Sports was great, the presenters couldn't get a word in edgeways and he talked about how much he loves Alonso the whole time I think everyone has fallen in love with him a bit.
