AM and Alpine both need to eat some humble pie. AM made ridiculous comments about Perez's driving style to shrug off guilt over dumping him late in the season and nearly costing a good driver a ride. Perez already looks like the best no.2 in a Redbull since Ricciardo. Alpine's Cyril said Ricciardo was making a big mistake moving to McLaren. Doesn't look like it, Cyril. Looks like Renault continues to be terribly unreliable, no doubt a big reason behind Ricciardo's move.
Perez did look good. Although in Albon's first race he started at the back (took an engine penalty) and pulled off some great moves coming through the field to finish 5th. Essentially the same as Perez. Albon was actually pretty good that year, posted the same time as Max in qualifying in Japan (closest any team mate has got to him in years) and was always top 5/6.. and that was the year where Ferrari were rapid with their "illegal" engine.

I think Perez will be good, but i'll reserve judgement till I've seen him mix it with the top 3 and provide that rear gunner role that they've bought him in for.

Totally agree about Tsunoda. When he gets it right he looks insanely quick, it wouldn't surprise me to see him qualify top 5 a few times this season. His interview after on Sky Sports was great, the presenters couldn't get a word in edgeways and he talked about how much he loves Alonso the whole time  I think everyone has fallen in love with him a bit.

I've been playing motorsport manager. Ferrari was my choice. Coming towards the end of the first season. Only one race remaining. Charles Leclerc is in contention for the championship after winning the last 2 races, although it is looking like Verstappen is going to get it done. I've surpassed expectations anyway.

Max Verstappen will never talk to Ferrari while I'm around because I called him overrated, I thought it was all for a bit of fun, ya know. Max having none of it. It's cool how you can vote on things like different tracks coming in or change to the pit stop times. If they asked me to go back to old school qualifying then that would get the hell ya. Not expecting it though.

It is sweet when a plan comes together. The Saudi Arabia race was pure madness. Bloody safety car out twice, (getting rid of the safety car was voted against. Booo) I didn't mind it first time because I wasn't leading. The second time it came out we had 3 laps left and Leclerc was leading by a good distance beforehand. Made it a little nervy but he got it done. He's a bit of a hero to me already because he told me to take a risk and switch the tyres earlier than planned. He said it would be worth it. I trust him because of how he has performed this season. And the risk paid off.

This is how it looks going into the final race. Cert to qualify last or something. lol

Leclerc challenging for the title? Did you turn on the "2019 illegal Ferrari engine" option in the settings?

It's funny you mention that. Hamilton was docked points twice for illegal parts.

Leclerc is a legend to me already. :p I decided to keep the team I had at the start to see how it goes. I don't think I had heard of him before the game, maybe I did, but couldn't remember because I don't watch f1 these days. I remember it back when Australia was the start of the season. Murray Walker going mad for Damon Hill etc. The game is very deep.

Australia is still the start of the season, it was cancelled last year because of Covid and it's at the end of this season as they anticipate things will be better by then. I think Australia have some of the toughest restrictions into the country so it wasn't an option in it's usual March slot.

Leclerc is excellent, as is Sainz. You did well to stick with them both.

The Ferrari episode on this seasons Drive to Survive on Netflix is worth a watch, if you want to see how bad Ferrari were last year. Plenty of awkward unseen footage behind the scenes!

I hope you went with option C for that question :p

Sainz is a solid customer. I see him in the Bottas, Perez class. Bottas is probably the best qualifier of those three and Perez the best in the races. Sainz is a happy medium but with superior wet weather skills.

Solid won't be enough to put any sustained hurt on Leclerc though. I expect Leclerc to beat Sainz quite comfortably, and he might just be the fastest qualifier on the grid.
