Four months after his left wrist injury, Juan Martin Del Potro is practicing

Great player, miss watching him on the tour.

The Argentine, who hasn't played since Miami when he lost to Vasek Pospiil in three sets, is believed to be finally stepping out of his injury days and he has revealed that he is looking forward to an injury free season.

Del Potro is as motivated as ever and wrote about his recovery process one month go. The World No. 581, who was fourth in 2010, played only four matches this year: one in Miami and three in Sydney on January. He assured that will play US Open next year.

Look at the forehand. Channeling his inner Roger? (This might be an old pic but oh well)

Good luck to him. I worry he will never be the same but as long as he can compete it will be a blessing.

I miss the thunder of his forehand.

Such a shame that his body isn't suited to the exertions of a tennispro. He could be a serious opponent for Novak...

Same with Haas, tremendous talent, but no body to support that.

Do I understand correctly that his injury is only affecting his 2hbh? I can't help but wonder how his results would turn out if he'd switched to a 1hbh, and spent all the time he's been injured working on that. Not saying he'd won anything. Not even saying he'd be top 100. But it would be very interesting to see.

I think he could crack the top 20 again, and from there who knows.

I hope Juan gets his mojo back in 2016.

Del Potro coming back to be the man who topples Djokovic...?

I hurt my off hand wrist and it affects a lot more than youd think, tossing on your serve, and bringing the racquet back . Not sure he would be top 100, I think he would get some wins but not top 100.

Still holding out a sliver of hope for the miracle comeback. Delpo to win a slam once again :D

Nah in all seriousness, I hope he can just play without injury again

I doubt del Potro can even sustain top level player for a particularly long time ever again. Let's imagine just for a moment that he can become fit enough to have one final burst. He could then go all out at a Slam and leave his wrists out there on the court after warming up some serious form for a few months, then bow out after halting Djokovics CYGS bid. His wrists can literally fall to the floor after his last 178 mph backhand winner for the US Open title.

Cue a Hollywood film.

Well! He needs to schedule properly, skip few tournaments and give enough rest to his body. Slams must be his priority.

I understand we have been down this road before, but what if the docs fixed it this time. If he gets healthy there is no reason why he can't challenge for slams once he gets his rhythm back.

I really, REALLY hope he gets back to top 10 form or better yet top 5 at some point in his future. Can't help but love Del Potro

Also, he has never taken such a huge amount of time off and focused so much on finding a way to heal like this before. So it's quite possible we could be looking at a different result. We will see!

Does any one know what exactly about his technique.is aggravating this condition of his...I'd like to know so I.can avoid it myself haha

The only guy I can think of with more hair is the late Robin Williams. ;)

I can only think of this guy as the "gentle giant", and I think life or karma has totally screwed him (injuries) and has stopped us from watching a truly exciting player who could at his best challenge anyone. He is just what we need in tennis, someone who can get hot and beat anyone on the planet at his best. The lack of people like DelPo is the reason why I am not even watching tennis this week.
