"I'd rather not play five-set matches against Nick because they would last too long and we would probably both grow beards before the end," Federer said, according to Tennis World USA.

Kyrgios has a reputation as the bad boy of world tennis, and though Federer has an ambassadorial image, he said he could relate to the younger pro.

"I lost to Franco Squillari in Hamburg 2001," Federer said. "I complained a lot. I was disappointed [with] my performance, and so I decided to calm myself down."

But the comparisons do not end there — Federer complimented Kyrgios by saying their styles were similar.

"I'm a fan, really," he said of Kyrgios. "He plays very relaxedly, just like me when I was young.

Is Kyrgios a "bad" or not aggresive returner because he lacks mobility and speed or because he doesn't even try?

Against Murray he gave the impression of not even trying to return. He just felt so comfortable with his serve that he did little to no effort to break Murray. Or maybe it's just my perception.

Yeah, pretty sure it would feel long due to the number of games and TBs, but their average time per game must be pretty short - Not only due to their one to three shot points, but because they both set up real quick between points. Same with Fed vs Roddick; remember how quick-fire Fed Roddick in W09 was considering the number of games? 5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14 all done in 4 hours 17 minutes. By contrast, the 2008 final was nearly 5 hours.
