Murray won't be serving as well as he did today.

Anyway Djokovic should engrave his name on the trophy right now if the tournament won't do it for him. There's 0 chance of him losing this.

Impressive run for Murray, but I still can't see anything else but a straight set victory for Djokovic. I would actually be happy for him if he does win. I'm curious to find out if the crowd will finally cheer for Djokovic like they did when he lost last year or if once again, they will support anyone else on the other side of the net?

Won't watch it, I just hope Novak wins this final, any kind of a scoreline will do. His legacy would be absolutely complete. He can even retire in that case and I would be more than happy with everything he has achieved (probably not alone here).

Good luck Novak, God bless you on Sunday.

Don't be a pu.ssy. No benefit to not watching in reality. Nerves are good, make us feel alive.

You will regret not watching it if Nole wins.

Murray played really well today against Stan, but I expect him to play tentative tennis against Novak, low first percentage service, etc., Same old story.

Yup, same 'ol choking from Muzz in slam finals. I think it will be a straightforward and easy win for Djokovic. Murray just doesn't have the mental focus on every single point, even if it's 0-40 in the third set with little hope. He needs to not swear at his box, grab his thigh or do ANYTHING except focus on every single point. He can't do it (usally) in big matches, so it'll be Djoker in three.

Anyone that picks Murray to win this is a complete idiot.

I'll bring this to the fore tomorrow when all's done and dusted. How can you be so sure that Murray can't win this when he's beaten Djokovic in a recent clay Masters final that plays very similar to Roland-Garros, and knowing that Murray has defeated Djokovic in a Slam final before when he had a lot more pressure than he does now (the pressure is all on Djokovic's shoulders)? What's delusional is to think that this is a foregone conclusion, which it is not. Given the level both have displayed, I'd say it's a marginal 55-45 advantage for Djokovic.

Mate, that is not the way and you know it.

Do as I will: concoct a mighty fête before the television, prepare a savory meal (a nice bloody steak, or better yet some palatable haggis), enjoy it with a large full-bodied glass of red wine, finish the meal with a fine glass (or two) of Islay Whisky. Top the whole thing off with some snow*, and just lean back in the chair and enjoy the spectacle. And, for the complete experience, try to embrace the Muzziah!

Mate, the only way I can picture myself in case I watch the final is something like this...

Wouldn't it be better to be in this condition by running for a few hours than by cheering for Djovak and embracing the Muzziah?

Murray has fantastic touch around the net on clay. Unreal the softness of his hands today against Stan.
Murray has the edge there.
Baseline and serve edge to Djokovic.

Agree with this. But, problem for Murray is that most (90% ?) of the points are decided on the baseline or by serve/return. He has to get those type of points down by 10-15%. Either draw Novak to the net, or create situations where both guys are in No mans land or within.

....Will Djokovic avenge his Rome final loss to Murray? Or will Djokovic once again taste disappointment on Chatrier by having to witness all the other top 5 having a FO title, with the exception of him?

Stay tuned. The Big 2 once again in another blockbuster final.

Who will claim the cup of musketeers?
Glad this one won out over the weakera thread. Strong thread. Strong clay era.;)

I'll watch for history. Would be nice to see another player added to list of career Grand Slams. I think Djokovic has been waiting a long time for this moment, so I feel like he's going to seize his opportunity in a big way.

Yeah - he's only lost 1 clay finals. He's 4-1 in clay finals since start of 2015 with loads of wins over top 10 players. Prior to then, he had 1 win over a top 10 player on clay and zero finals in all the years leading up to 2015. That's why the name 'Clayray' was coined (not by me) because his results on it over the last 18 months are so much better than before. It's just a bit of fun mate.

Didn't end so well for Tony Montana. He murdered his best friend, watched his sister murdered in his arms, and then ended up getting shot in the back of the head with a shotgun.

I'm just saying man, if that's not like foreboding, then I don't know what is.

Well, yes. It will indeed be quite the tragedy to watch Novak fall short of his ultimate goal yet again, but I hope you're not suggesting he will take it that far in the aftermath:eek: Maybe trash a hotel room or something, that should be more than enough.

Fail if you exclude Australia where Djokovic was the prohibitive favorite. Their record in other slams.
Majors sans Auz:
21/2015 SF FO - RG Clay Novak Djokovic Andy Murray 6-3 6-3 5-7 5-7 6-1 1.25 - 4.75
35/2014 QF US Open Hard Novak Djokovic Andy Murray 7-6(1) 6-7(1) 6-2 6-4 1.31 - 3.92
26/2013 F Wimbledon Grass Andy Murray Novak Djokovic 6-4 7-5 6-4 2.68 - 1.56
35/2012 F US Open Hard Andy Murray Novak Djokovic 7-6(10) 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2 3.15 - 1.43

That is an extremely good record when Murray has had a chance outside of Australia he's done very well. Djokovic is the overwhelmingly better player on hard courts statistically. Murray has been clutch and is extremely clutch on clay.

Murray at the French and Wimby. Golden slam done.;)

All kinds of cognitive dissonance for me here. I hate both players, so this is going to be a real sh1t show for me. I think I'll just skip it. Yeah, I think I'll definitely skip it.

Shesh ! Call yourself a tennis fan ? A fan of Tennis World no doubt...

Will you stay off here too ? Just think how depressed you'll be if The Bum won it !
