  • Jan Kodes
  • Andres Gimeno
  • "ILie" Nastase
  • Adriano Panatta
  • Guillermo Vilas
  • Yannick Noah
  • Ivan Lendl
  • Andres Gomez
  • Thomas Muster
  • Gustavo Kuerten
  • Albert Costa
  • Gaston Gaudio
  • Roger Federer
2HBH:

  • Bjorn Borg
  • Mats Wilander
  • Michael Chang
  • Jim Courier
  • Sergi Bruguera
  • Yevgeny Kafelnikov
  • Carlos Moya
  • Andre Agassi
  • Juan Carlos Ferrero
  • Rafael Nadal

Feel free to count the number of titles, analyze, and start making your counter-points :)

I wouldn't bother counting 1hbhers before Borg and Connors. Those two really innovated the 2hbh in the mens game. And I keep forgetting Lendl was 1hbh. >< His style was so synonymous with the current 2hbh power game.

Just to make sure I am following the logic you are proposing here. Are you saying that there weren't any players with 2HBH competing prior to Mr. Borg and Mr. Connors?

Overall advantage of 2-hander is a myth anyway. It's just the trend and more people are taught it. Perhaps one is more likely to find dominance on certain types of surfaces with certain strokes such as 2 RG 1 Wimb. and that's about it. Nadal's amazing record on clay isn't so much to do with his 2 as it is his general talent for the game, physical abilities and strategic mind.

Nadal's forehand has won him all his titles. Give Nadal Gasquet's backhand, and I'm sure he'd win just as many RG's, maybe even more.
