I know Djokovic deserves the #1 seed because of his #1 ranking, but this is the biggest talent gap I've ever seen between a #2 and a #1 when the #2 is the superior talent.
And given that Djokovic struggled like crazy to beat Thiem at the Australian Open of all places, even the #3 is superior to the #1 at Roland Garros.

is this the finally the tournament that alexander zerver can win a major ?
Zverev is 4-0 vs. Edmund, including 3 matches that were won in straight sets, and Edmund took a set off Djokovic this week, so actually its more likely Zverev will win this US Open than win Roland Garros (plus the Nadal factor at Roland Garros makes it virtually impossible).

Looking like a Rafa/Djokovic final... I mean, everyone else in the draw is miles behind the top 2 players in the World right now.

So because the #3 lost to the #1 at a previous major the #3 should be seeded higher? That logic is sound.

Except Djokovic only won the AO Final (in 5 sets after trailing 2 sets to 1) after Nadal took away Thiem's energy.
So Thiem is better than Djokovic at the AO, and even better than Djokovic at Roland Garros (as Thiem has won their last 2 RG meetings).
Djokovic is dead on clay, and suffered the indignity of a bagel vs. Nadal at Rome 2019, the first bagel in the history of their rivalry. In fact Nadal won 60 46 61, so a breadstick too!

I never disagreed with the seedings, as I said "I know Djokovic deserves the #1 seed because of his #1 ranking".
The rankings make all the seedings valid.
I'm talking about the talent gap, and its obvious to me that on clay Nadal and Thiem are currently the best.

So because the #3 lost to the #1 in a slam in January the #3 is more talented? Your logic is still sound.

Not quite as big as the gap between 1 and 2 at this year’s AO, considering the number 1 seed hadn’t taken a set off the number 2 seed on HC since 2013.

Except the Thiem-Nadal AO match was a higher level of tennis than the Thiem-Djokovic AO match.

Wonder how some of these guys are going to adjust having to play on such a short turnaround. Not going to be easy to change surfaces and continents on only about 14 days between events.

Nadal won the 2020 AO for Djokovic by taking Thiem's best shots in the 76 46 76 76 grindfest, the best match of the year.

It depends in which half Thiem falls.if it's Nadal's, yeah, Novak is in the final.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they put Thiem in Nadal's half just to make sure we have a Djokodal final.

But does anybody find Djokovic as entertaining as Thiem? I doubt it.

I hope Nadal gets Novak's schedule and draw from last year at the FO....

Whoever gets to play Thiem in the SF might actually be lucky, if Thiem is worn-out from winning the US Open and playing Rome.....(although he'll get a week-off before Roland Garros so might be ok)

can't twait for this tournamennt. You heard what Djokovic said the other day? He said you need to be in better shape for French Open.
It's because you will hit more balls on clay.. I like to play on the hard courts more but let's stop downplaying the difficulty of playing on clay.
