Friction and shaped polys

nytennis-74

Semi-Pro
I have an open pattern racket (18x16) and I have been playing with round polys for the most part. I want to experiment with shaped polys and was wondering if I should hybrid them. Conceptually I think that if you have full bed shaped polys it may be more difficut for them to slide properly than if you had shaped mains/round crosses. Is that true?
If so, what are some suggestions for the cross? (was thinking ripspin or Lynx - I need 16 gauge given the open pattern as I think Mosquito Bite would break too quickly).
Please let me know.
Thanks

In my 95s, I find the smooth, slick poly to work the best. I have tried textured polys and they didn't nearly as good in that specific racquet. In my APD however, I always use shaped polys.
