From lynx tour to, lynx?

Hi all,

I'm playing tennis since 1 year, i'm 4.5 and i've always used Head Speed with Lynx tour. I once tried the hawk but was to rigid to me. I wanted to try something more soft than lynx tour, to have more feel so i was thinking about the lynx: what do you think? How much they differ and in what?

Thanks

Regular Lynx is softer, as muted (if not more so), and doesn’t have anywhere near the tension maintenance Lynx tour has.

FWIW, I liked the lime green variant the best of the different colors of regular Lynx.

You might also consider having a look at Hyper G soft.

Edit: also not sure what color lynx tour you are using, but IME the orange/red variant is the softest of the bunch.

For lynx tour I'm using the grey one. The guy of the shop keep telling that color doesn't change much...maybe just because he is not selling the other?

That surely could be the reason, but for me, the differences between grey, champagne, black and orange are subtile (yet noticeable in the same racquet), like if i'd had in issue with lynx tour black, the other colors wouldn't be a solution, at least for me.

tension maintenance is terrible with lynx. i would consider hyper g soft as well.
lynx plays nice for the first hour.

also i dont get the feel argument. you have more "feel"/control with stiffer strings and more power with softer.

Guy at the shop is full of it. ;) Seriously, everyone is different it seems to feeling any difference. Me, I’m one of the lucky/unlucky ones who does notice a fair bit of difference in the different colors. YMMV.

not sure why , but people in the forum in general like the Lynx Tour much better. Lynx isn't a bad string though. its softer but not as good of control.. Darker color is better from what i heard
