Fucsovics says, "US Open Court speed is quite faster than last year"

Confirmed on Eurosports today during a Podcast, Fucsovics has been practicing with Federer on Ashe this week and said:

"The courts are playing moderately fast in practice, quite faster than last year. Not as fast as Cincy, but not as slow as Winston Salem. I'd say moderate speed with lowish bounce. Courts will get faster by next week and with more play on them."

I don't have a link because I listened to to live, maybe someone else will have it.
Perfect conditions for Nadal then as he won Canada with ease on a court speed index over 4 and at his stage of his career, given his problematic knees faster courts definitely suit him as long as bounce is higher than in Australia, which it is bound to be due to balls they use.

Also good news for Djokovic as he will prefer quicker conditions with his more attacking game. Bad news for Federer given his remarks in Cincinatti.

With every passing grand slam maestronians become more obsessive about court conditions. They so desperately want for the circumstances to be perfectly in maestro's favor lol

How about the weather? I took a glance and it looks as hot/humid as last year with thunderstorms during the tournament. Did USO do something about the air circulation in ashe?
After 10 years of red/blue/green clay we deserve it. 3 editions of AO isn't enough.

And what exactly happened to Federer when he played on fast HC this year? Right, he lost to Rublev and Tsitsipas.

Don’t get too excited, Feddys. The Millman experience is coming.
Federer most vulnerable if it plays faster as so many players can hit him off court. Great news for nadalovic fans.

Does it matter? Federer doesn't win Majors on anything nowadays. W, AO should suit, he failed, Cincinatti...fail...IW...fail..FO...fail. I mean what exactly will assist Federer save for the removal of Nadal and Djokovic from the draw lol.

So what does this mean?
Why do you want it faster?
Federer is now a lock for the title?

Did Nadal?

Advantage Fedovic quite clearly if these surface reports are true.
Nadal won Canada (index was 4.3 which faster than UO)...runner up in AO (faster than UO) so keep crying lol.

Federer has no chance unless Nadal and Djokovic are out injured.

He as well faced an opponent that had a crazy good day and the balls to keep his level throughout the match.
Just look what happened in the next match with Rublev.
I guess Roger forgot how it is to play vs such opponents if they are not named Rafa or Novak, as most of the tour loses long before stepping on the court.
And let me guess, Roger is just a human, so the good day for Rublev could have been combined with a bad day for Roger. Happens.

Nadal won Canada last year and Djokovic was there, and nadal has outperformed Federer at every HC major for past year lol.

Dude, stop dreaming. Nadal is the best player on hard courts at the moment, proof is there for all to see. Facts trump opinions.

You over W yet? hahaha

Erm..Nadal holds a masters 1000 title and r/u in Australia where he thrashed guy that schooled Federer....Federer has a Miami title and absolutely nothing else of note bar a loss to Thiem at IW.

More recently Nadal bagelled the guy who beat Djokovic...but dont let facts ruin your delusion poor fellow lol.

Don't waste your energy. He's a clueless troll who's still hurt from the treatment Federer have Nadal at Wimbledon. He thinks Nadal is the best hardcourt player at the moment. Talk about delusional.

Federer has no chance unless "Nadal" and Djokovic are out injured.

Have you been watching tennis the last few years? Did you watch Wimbledon?
Roger is a big favourite against Rafa anywhere nowadays off clay. You cannot put Nadal and Djokovic in the same sentence in terms of Rogers chances against them.
Roger will have a very tough task beating Novak anywhere especially in the slams at the moment but against Nadal he's a big favourite.

Lol, When has Federer beat nadal on HC then? Last two HC majors he didn't make it far enough to face nadal, and Nadal is holder of Canadian Open. Nadal will eat Federer as badly as he did in Roland Garros...I know Federer fans still yet to come to terms with Roland Garros, but it is reality and what they can expect in New York.

That is not going to prevent receiving a beat down from Federer/Djokovic lol.
As a Rafa fan I am really scared to read that post of yours. Federer is such a dominant player in USO. Rafa should just retire already to not get humiliated by them. (y) I have no idea how he even dear to step on those courts.

Let’s remember what were Federer’s results during USO series the last 3 years?

Canada 17: Lost to Zverev
USO 17: Lost to Del Potro
CC 18: Lost to Joe Kovic
USO 18 Lost to Millman
CC 18: Lost to Rublev

Yeah, this guy is definitely giving Nadal a beatdown at USO this year, LMAO

Don’t think Fed will get in Rafas half this year as odds low for that. Which sucks as I want them to play a SF.

Are you suggesting that Rafa will get injured like last year?

Not just lower ranked players. Didn’t Nadal have to retire and basically shut it down for the rest of 2018 as a result of the KhachBasilThiem gauntlet? I want him healthy for the money rounds if he can get there.

Yeah, definitely! Also fast conditions gets the best out of the top players since the lower ranked players get value for their shots and Top players can't rely on them to commit lot of UE. Do you think Rogers Cup this year were faster? It looked slower to me with higher bounce.

If since 3rd round he has to face opponents who are playing best tennis in their life again? Maybe.

But it’s a completely different story. I don’t get from what comes a conclusion that Federer will do much better at USO this year than he did in 2017 and 2018. Faster conditions? See Cinci.

USO was probably faster in 2011 than last two additions.

2017 was definitely not slow. It was made slow by the usual suspects because Nadal won it. The pic below is from 2017, for comparison Cincinnati this year was just over 37 and everyone called it a fast court. 36 is medium, that's been the normal speed of USO for over a decade. And I remember in 2011 many players complained that it was playing very slow (just like they did last year). USTA even issued a statement that they had to delay the resurfacing process that year due to bad weather, and that's why it was playing slower than usual.

I didn’t say it was slow I meant slower . USO used to be medium-fast before 2016/17 though.

I don't think USO is going to be as fast as Cincy or slow as previous edition of USO from what we heard. So that will help Fed. Also it will be harder to beat Big 3 in BO5. If you look at Fed's defeat to Tsits or Millman, it was very close. Fed had back issues in 2017 and inconsistent last year. But this year, his form is very good after AO. That is why I feel he will perform well at USO. The only thing I am afraid is whether he is still reeling from that Wimby loss.

I don't think it's been medium-fast since 2003 when they slowed down the courts. This is on record by the way. ITF considers CPI 40-44 as medium fast, 35-39 is considered medium. It was medium fast till 2002. Of course every year the courts play a little bit differently but two years that stand out as slow are 2011 and 2018.
