Fucsovics says, "US Open Court speed is quite faster than last year"

AO 2017 was fast for sure but the rest is nonsense. It will depend a lot on the draws as well as conditions. Plus fitness.

Also, if clay is slow and it is, then Federer should have not made so many finals there. Clearly he is capable though the soft draws helped him a lot too, but the point is, he's perfectly fine playing on slow surfaces. It doesn't go against him. In fact, I'd say these days, now that he's older, perhaps he needs a bit more time to set up his shots properly. So if the court is, say, medium slow, it's helps him.
Bring it on I say, simple as that. Fed up w this fast or slow courts talk.

Where will GOAT Millman be in the draw?
somewhere in fed half wandering and waiting for him again as he wants to repeat that experience coz he knows it feels so good

First off, as a Fed fan, he likes the courts slower, if he wins. If not he likes the fast courts... unless he loses there too. In that case, slow courts benefit him more.

But on a serious note, I am not sure whether Fed would benefit from slow or fast as he can struggle on slow (hard to play aggressive tennis). But he can also struggle on fast if he is getting hit off the court.

So for me, I feel it is all about the bounce. At the end of the day he wants a low bouncing court, the rest is irrelevant depending on the opponent.

What did I just read?:D There were tons of rallies. Lots of the points went longer than usual, and Federer simply outplayed Nadal from the baseline because the low bounce helped him in a big way.

Pretending that Wimbledon was anything but slow is not just delusion by the Federer detractors, but a little sad.

Uh, no. No there weren't. You're just flat-out lying, and it's ridiculous.

145 out of 243 points were 3 shots or less. 209 out of 243 were 6 shots or less.

It doesn't get much more short points dominated than that.

In their 2006 final, 146 of their 246 points were 3 shots or less, and 200 of the 246 were 6 or less.

Hate to break it to you, folks...

But the general expectation amongst pundits is that Roger Federer will win the United States Open this year.

Who is pumped?! o_O

Hopefully it's true. Faster surfaces usually make for more variety and also more exciting points.

also I have to post this, hopefully it wasn't posted already but I can't be arsed to read 5 pages.

Lol what do u mean? When did I say I wanted to hang w him? (I would though) :D
Oh, I didn't know.

Federer revs some folks' engines. For some reason I thought he was your boy all this while.

I stand corrected.

Since Federer didn't like the faster speed in Cincy this year, it makes all sorts of sense that the Frauderista one track mind is in a state of ecstasy right now.

Kind of like a dog trained to salivate at the thought of faster court, just hard to stop the drooling even though it means certain doom for the GOAT.:sneaky:

If they actually did favor Fed, why did they not put Nadal in Novak's side at the WO ? Considering that Fed was 2, they could have done that.

I really don't think organizers favor a particular player. They want the best ticket sales and most viewers. And that means having the top three reach the semis, and preferably two of them reach the final. So I think they would favor the top three.
he was favored to be put as the #2 seed in the first place, when he wasn't ranked #2.

You certainly have a fertile imagination !!!

Ecstacy ? I am still gutted and destroyed.

Why ? Because of the disappearance of the Like button. What else did you think ?

big dislike. (n)(n)(n)

are you saying that this rule was put in place in 2019, shortly before the tournament based on Federer results on grass?

or by any chance same rule was applied consistently over the years?
Djokovic 2018, no?
Nadal never in the past got a lower seeding when compared to his ranking, no?

how smart and powerful was Federer back in 2001 to get this rule in order to favor him in 2019.
