Good evening,

Does anyone know approximate inform or exactly what steps the Gael Monfils racquet ?

Racquet: Wilson Blade 98 18x20 (2015)
Headsize: 98
Weight: (strung?)
Balance: (Cm?)
Swingweight: (?)

I'm waiting for someone has this information because it is very hard to find the Monfils racquet specifications.

He uses a H22 which is a imitation of the Prestige. He uses a 1/2 or 5/8 and it's leather. He strings ALU Fluoro somewhere in the high 50's. Uses a Luxilon Purple Dampener.

No, he does not and NO, it is not!
He uses the H19 which is close to Prestige MP, but true 98 (Prestige is 95)
The H22 is 22mm beam and different from the Prestige.

Exactly! Also, the other particularity of the H19 is the "Y" throat (resembles to the Prestiges) instead of the "V" of the H22.

Searching in other forums of the internet, and what the Face Priority One commented on the video, I believe his racket must weigh more than 344g.

His racket should be around 360g. And the higher swingweight still around a 370.

Because it uses much lead tape below the bumper guard.

So the deal is whether it uses racket h19 without any customization on it because I think 344g light , especially if dealing with Monfils WUE is extremely strong .

It has a video of Priority 1 the guy who customizes the rackets of the pro's speech Monfils racket , and claims to have a lot of weight in the head.

I checked weight his Prince EXO3 Rebel "Experimental".

It have 323g unstrung, without over grip,,,,

I understand perfectly.

But you know how much will be said about the swingweight of Monfils racquet?

I believe at the time that he then used the racket brand "Prince" he wore heavier, would it?

And a question regarding all rackets professionals, usually they use the most HL or HV?

Below is an old post from uk_skippy on November 27 2006, back when Monfils used the PC600. His specs may have changed since then but hope this helps.

I also took the following info from 1 of the 3 rqts.

weight : 368g
S/weight : 386
balance point 12" 7/8 approx
rqt length : 27"
Grip size : 4 5/8 (plus at least 1 tourngrip)
CAPS : Flexpoint CAPS
String tension 26/25kg

As you'll see the rqt has the now familiar painted flexpoint holes and the rqt has proper flexpoint CAPS not the normal PC600 CAPS. There was also lead visible at the top of the rqt under the CAPS.

I would also suspect that Safin is using the same set for his rqt (painted holes & FXP CAPS) on his suspected PC600.

Doubt they are Lamonf's, he uses a size 5 grip.

so it is the Wilson Blade 98,,, the new model that is out ? probably heavier than what is sold in TW though..

???????? There are H19s and H22s on tour painted to look like just about every Wilson model, has been for years.

New Blades are not due until 2017 anyway and they won't be close to the H19 or H22

FYI: I have a Monfils 2013 H19 incoming and it's 322g unstrung. So further confirmation that the 320-324 unstrung spec is correct.

No here is a question: Does Monfils get a custom handle done at P1? The stick I have coming is 4 5/8 with Wilson leather, but there's still plastic on the handle. So I'm wondering if this particular one came straight from Wilson uncustomized or if P1 got to it and did their magic, but left the handle alone (as in Monf goes to P1 for customization, but not for a custom handle). There's no visible lead.

Yes, he does get a custom handle. I have one of his old Prince frames and it has a customized handle.

His Prince Rebels had a custom handle and a P1-branded leather grip.

String pattern:18 x 20
grip size: custom grip (between L4 and L5)
Silicone in handle, lead not visible

That pretty much lines up perfectly with the Monfils H19 I'll be receiving this week. Only thing that baffles me is the plastic on the handle. Not sure why the weight and balance are spot on, but there's been no customization to the handle - that is unless P1 puts plastic on the handle after they put the custom grip on, but that seems unlikely.

spitballing here: P1 has at least two kinds of clients, 1 they customize and string for, 2 they customize for but get tournament strung. If Monfils is #2 then it would make sense that the grip would be protected to transport to him.

Interesting theory. It does make sense. I know Ron posts on here occasionally and he might have an answer, but I'm reticent to ask as I'm sure he gets bothered with this stuff all the time.

Looking on Ron / P1 photos posted on twitter there are Gael's frames with OG and strung around 2013, so my previous post isn't holding water unless something changed.
