The pace is far more cerebral, and things like grenades must be calculated as oppsed to just spamming them (which you can still do, but not nearly as haphazardly). Not to knock Halo 3, it's great, particularly where Matchmaking is concerned (primarily, in fact); I won't dell on that subject for too long, as there are numerous threads about it as-is - but hopefully Epic hears our cries for a btter matchmaking system (at the very least, Ranked matches with friends).
Plus, Gears has the obvious thing, like better graphics/engine, violent gameplay and a far grittier atmosphere. Halo 3 has a lot going for it, and I will certianly log more hours playing it, but Gears is a superior game. 'nuff said.
