Gamma 5800 ELS

I'm considering a replacement machine for my Alpha Apex/Wise 2086. I strung on the Gamma 5800 ELS at a national junior tournment this summer and was quite impressed with the machine. Can any owners of the machine share their experiences with it so far in terms of reliability, etc? Alpha has excellent after-sales service so I'd also be interested in how Gamma's service stacks up (if you've needed it).

Thanks in advance,

Many years ago I owned a Gamma machine and kept it for 6 years. Called ATS once about oversize clamps, and they sold me a pair. Worked well, never had a complaint. Also after stringing on the 6004, I can say for sure it is solid, and all my questions were answered quickly.

You mentioned Alpha has great after service support, have you ever had to use it? A friend has an Apex and he averages about 80 rackets stringing a month. Only issue is the crank spring has broken 3 times this year. It just snaps.

Also try the 2 point mounting system, it is very nice.

When I first got the machine I had a couple of questions which I e-mailed to Mark Gonzalez. I received very prompt and informative replies to my questions. Other than that, I've never had an issue with the machine so I had no further need for customer service. Soon after purchasing the machine, I replaced the crank with the Wise head, so spring breakage hasn't been an issue for me.

I have had mine for a year now and not a single problem. I often check it on the calibrator and pulls on the money every time, never had to recalibrate it. You will not be disappointed with their customer service, its top notch.
