Hey guys,

between the 5800 ELS and 8800 ELS, the difference I see is the mounting, the quick action clamps, and the keypad.

Could I just buy a 5800 ELS, add this turntable on: http://www . a t s s p o r t s . com/tennis.cfm?prodid=988 (no spaces)

Maybe Gamma Tech or anyone else can chime in, but if I did that, would I essentially have an 8800 ELS without the keypad, if I add that turnable to a 5800 ELS? Or is there something in the 8800 ELS that im missing?

Thanks.

There is a very slight difference in the electronics of the two machines, however, the major difference like you said is the turntable. I have personally used both and the turn table that comes with the 8800 is significantly more enjoyable to string on. The clamps on the machines are also slightly different. The big advantage of the 8800 is when mounting the racquet you only have to adjust 3 knobs as opposed to 6 when mounting a racquet n the 5800. Also, the 8800 is a self centering mounting system.

you are correct with your info. you would have a pretty nice machine with the combination you are wanting, BUT we don't sell it as an 'upgrade' you'd have to buy a complete 5800 machine and then buy a complete mounting system & TT.

also the base clamps are different. the 5800 is quick action, very basic nut & bolt and the 8800 are Switch Action which is a lighter action to open & close, cam, spring, etc.
