Gamma ipex 7.0 vs Volkl Catapult V1

I was just about to purchase a mfill 300 but was worried about the head size. I noticed the Volkl Cat V1 on the clearance page of TW. Looks really good for me especially if I can find the MP. I have never even seen a Volkl or Gamma racket. The iPex 7.0 caught my eye also. It sounds really great as well except the 20mm beam. I have never played thinner than 26mm. Maybe I'll love it?? Any info on either of these two would be helpful. I will probably purchase one of them tonight. There is a $50 difference in price.

Thanks.

I play the gamma Ipex 7.0 MP. I love the stick. I find it perfect for my 2HBH and serving. It is (however) a tad unstable on volleys, but this can be corrected with lead tape. Most people feel that it's a decent frame, but too unstable and too flexible (it feels like a noodle). My recommendation would be for the G325.

Spin is very generous. I can generate plenty of topspin or sidespin upon command. However, you may get "too much". Also, some have commented that the backhand slice floats a bit. I personally haven't noticed this though.

The G325 has too small a head size for me. When you say unstable are you meaning twist. I don't mind a little jar but I don't like twist. I found this for a really good price. But being new to anything but an LM8 I don't want to get in over my head. Does the thin beam keep it from having a solid feel?

Depends on what you're comparing "solid" too. It's nowhere near as solid feeling as something from the 6.1 line (those things are tanks), but it's very much solid when being compared to a PD. I'm not saying it doesn't resist twist (is does wobble slightly, but not much), but the racket is slightly jarring. I'd advise throwing in the dampener. Without it, it also makes a really bad "ting" sound.
