Gamma Progression 2 ELS tension button problem

Wondering if anyone else with a Gamma Progression ii ELS has had any recurrent problems with the tension button? The tension button works intermittently and this happened for the first time about 10 months ago. I installed a new button from Gamma then and now after about 300 racquets the same thing is happening again. I press and nothing happens( most common ) or I press and it pulls and releases.Turning the machine on/off doesn't help. It may operate normally for 10 pulls and then acts up. Kind of frustrating as it's adding about 5 minutes to my stringing time. I've contacted Gamma's customer service and they are very nice, but I haven't been able to reach their technical supervisor. I'm having a hard time believing that the buttons are only good for about 300-400 racquets.

@mgthomas,

It sounds like maybe the button is "sticking".
Out of curiosity, when you replaced the button 10 months ago, did you also take a few extra minutes to clean around the perimeter/edges of the "hole" (that the new button needed to fit in)?

Try to call @Gamma Tech (Ewan) at the following number...

412-323-0335 ext. 224

Thank you for your quick reply! I did not clean around the hole that the button fits into. That said I have never felt any sticking, the button depresses smoothly. I wonder if it makes any sense to put dielectric grease on the posts of the switch or spray the inside of the switch with deoxit, but it seems hard to believe that after eight months there would be significant oxidation. This morning I did two racquets and battled the switch which worked only intermittently and then just now I did a racquet and the button did not misbehave once. Odd.
I did leave a message for Ewan last week, but have not heard back.

No idea really but it sounds more like a wiring / connector problem associated with the button wiring. Are there any ribbon /wiring connectors going to the button? You may want to check / clean them good.

I am slowly beginning to note a similar problem with my Gamma machine. The rest of the machine seems to be a tank. Weak point in the design, my guess. do you have the foot pedal? have you tried that?

@mgthomas if you have any knowledge of electrical wiring you could wire a Jack to the foot pedal connection and use a button to see if you can operate the start feature.

"sad" part is that it should be a $10.00 repair, but I imagine adding a 0 wouldn't even cover a repair.
I think my issue is the switch contacts, because it usually works and only every one in a while will it happen and a repress usually works
