Gamma X-2 convert to 6pt mount?

I searched the forum and couldn't find anything concerning this. Before I reach out to Gamma, is it possible that you can just but the 6pt mount with fixed clamps and replace the the 2pt mount that comes with the X-2 without have to buy the the whole X-6? Is the 6pt on the X-6 just a pole in the frame like the 2pt is? Just wondering if its possible.

I don't know about upgrading the mount system, but I do know that Gamma does not have an upgrade to add fixed clamps to either the X-2 or the X-6. Maybe someone on here knows about a third party add on for the clamping system. I called Gamma and they said it's not possible to upgrade the clamps.

I do not believe that the turntable can be mounted on the X-2 base.

Even if the turntable did fit, I imagine it wouldn't be cost effective.

First you would need the X6 turntable, clamp bases, clamps, and standards. The only thing you could use off the X2 would be the DW. Buying the parts to upgrade would be more expensive than replacing with a new machine. Not practical, the standards with 6 point mount won’t fit on the X2 bar If you wanted to use the flying clamps.

Not to be totally repetitive (WHICH I CLEARLY AM!!!......sigh), but it just wouldn't make sense monetarily.

Better off buying a new machine and selling your "less desirable" unit.

I agree with @struggle , just get a new machine . Putting mods like this is like attempting to put a hemi engine in an old VW beetle. Just would not be practical or cost effective.
