Gamma X-2 Upgrades

I was wondering if there are any possible "upgrades" to the X-2 machine, like swapping the mount to a sixpoint one with fixed clamps

or being able to bolt on a wise tension head or anything else for that matter?

Probably not cost effective to add fixed clamps, plus you may not have room. I have seen the wise added to many different machines. Don't see why if someone had the skills that it wouldn't work...

This is the downside of getting a low-end machine: no room for upgrades. You can probably hack them in but the time and effort needed is not worth it, IMO.

you can upgrade to a 6 pt mount with floating clamps. i think you can upgrade to the fixed clamp model but the price of a new machine is almost the same price as the upgrade.

i did the 6pt mount upgrade and it's working out well. didn't cost too much and it works better for me than the 2 pt mount.

anything can be done, but you'd have a lot more time/effort/money into upgrading an X-2. i'd suggest selling the X-2, it seems that machines retain their value, and buy what you want.
