Gamma XLT vs X-ELS Machine Difference? Circular tension pull vs Linear?

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is much of a difference of tension pull quality between these 2 machines? Or between these 2 types of pull mechanisms?

Thanks in Advance!

Both have been around for quite some time, but I'd go with the linear pull. Some rotational grippers can kink poly strings. Not saying this one does, but some do.

I've used the els for around 30 rackets. Rotational is fine. It doesn't kink the string. But it does add a little circular coil to it basically but I strung multi, syn gut and poly. Absolutely no issues.

In terms of tension, its very consistent and I've checked it a few times with a wise calibrator.

Okay thanks! I've noticed that the Gamma X-ELS seems to be consistent when I measure but only on some strings.

Example, using a Vcore 95 I string Solinco Confidential 17 @50 lbs on slow pull settings and later measure when done stringing = 50 lbs.
Meanwhile, stringing the Vcore 95 with Head Lynx Tour 17 @ 35 lbs then measuring comes out to 45 lbs (and feels 45 lbs).
I've calibrated the machine and using Solinco Confidential it's perfect, but Head Lynx Tour has always been a mystery to me why it measures and feels tighter after strung at low tensions.

Guess I wouldn't try stringing a badminton racket on it then.

curious as to what you are using to measure?

If by chance measuring racquet tension with either the Gamma STT (String Tension Meter/red and black one) or the Tourna String Meter (black one), I'd put zero bets on their accuracy. Especially the Gamma STT...I can use it five times in five minutes after a racquet is right off the stringing machine, and just about get five different tension results. The Tourna one seems to be a little more accurate, but again, I wouldn't bet the farm on that one either. I've never tried nor used any downloadable app like RacquetTune or whatever it is, so I can't speak on their accuracy or lack thereof.

Yeah I'd string up 2 rackets with the different strings and just hit the string bed. If it's 10lbs higher you'll notice
