Gel Resolution 5 Fit

I ordered the Gel Resolution 5 and I have to say that I agree with the TW size recommendation. I order half a size smaller than the Nike Vapor Tours thinking that the Asics ran large, and they're too small. I've heard they stretch out, but I'm not sure what that means really...I'll be going back to the Vapors. I just wish they had more colors for the new ones.

Hmmmm....I have fairly narrow feet. Nikes and others can be too wide. In fact the Gel Resolution 4's did not fit me right. But the Gel Resolution 5's are very narrow and will fit tight. They worked well for me. If they are too small width wise, they do stretch a little but not enough to compensate for it feeling too small. If they fit a tad small length wise, then I would go up a size. They are an AWESOME shoe. Not as durable as others I have tried, but super comfortable and they feel so low to the ground and stiff.

I ordered a few of the blue and black ones when they were on sale for $99. I like this color combo the best. Its stupid they change the color and then charge way more.

Yeah, they're too short. I'm sure it's a good shoe once broken in but the out of the box comfort of the Vapors is hard to beat. I don't have durability problems with the Vapors.

Did TW give you a personal recommendation to order smaller, or just compared to what you would order in the equivalent size Nike? I've worn the GR5 since it's been available and it is true to size, and I have a difficult-to-size, goofy foot.

No, I just read a lot of comments that argued that it ran large, which does not seem to be the case.

So I just started wearing my new black-n-blue GR5s, and NOW these seem a little - and I mean slightly - big. It's like there's an extra piece that juts out at the toe. still a comfortable shoe, but now I have to tighten all of the laces to prevent slippage. It's messing with me big time. I started reading about other shoes with higher stability scores, and the Adidas Barricade 8s seem like clunky toe-jamming beasts; Nike Air Max Cages can have the air bubble pop on them; the Lotto Raptor Ultra Speed IVs seem to fit tighter.

The Gel Speed 2s seem stable, but they are expensive with no warranty; Yonex Power Cushion Pros look good, but again, no warranty, and Power Cushion Ds have a warranty but are too lightweight.

Suggestions?

Prince Rebel or Rebel 2. I hope Prince hasn't stopped making them. I see them on other sites but not on TW. You can YouTube the TW reviews.

Gel So Speeds run true to size.
If your show is too tight, remove the insole and add a Dr.Scholl's cush pad, it's thinner than the stock insole and your feet will be using a wider part of the shoe, and the show will seem longer.
Also, you can remove the insole at Asic's always have great cushioning.

I would probably try the Yonex shoes if I were you. I wouldn't worry about the warranty.

OP- I posted a thread on this. I use 9.5 in barricades and Nike running shoes. The 9.5 Gel Res 5's in the 9.5 fit me. They are designed differently and have a bit more room in the toe so they may feel a tiny bit larger at first but they fit and feel great. Comfortable shoe on the court and I never think about my shoes while playing. I had an older version of the gel shoe and it was was way larger and not true to size. But these are.
