Genuine question: What is your problem with Nick?

People often criticize him for being candid, and then he has a cathartic moment where he dares to not be a sheep and criticize Djokovic, and people still hate him for it. It's fine if you don't like Kyrgios, nobody is making anyone like him, you are free to dislike anyone you want. Other players have also been candid towards their opponents in the past, but never got the same flack.

This is not me trying to change your opinion of him, just want to know.

I dislike him because of his on-court antics, nothing to do with who he is in real life (although truthfully he seems like a giant tool off-court aswell) but on court he has insulted umpires, insulted fans, made that famous girlfriend personal insult vs Wawrinka, thrown a chair onto the court, stopped trying when losing and deludes his "fans" into thinking he is a top player by constantly getting into petty issues with actual big name players like Djokovic and Nadal. He tricks people into thinking he's a part of that group when he's not. He's not even close. Flashy player sure but limited talent. 0 big titles. Has never been top 10 and in a couple of years he will be 30 and people will forget who he is.

He’s a parasite living off popularity of Federer and an obsessive attention seeker who can’t help using Djokodal and other tennis players for publicity.

He’s not a good person. Ever heard the saying that someone’s true colors come out on a tennis court? Breaking racquets is commonplace and it shows that some people get more easily frustrated and angry than others.

But berating officials, opponents, and being a general a-hole just shows that you’re not a good person at all. Same category as Benoit Paire, they’re not good people. Worst of all is not just that they have no respect for officials, opponents, or other people, it’s that they have no respect for themselves either.

So many.
1. Trash person. I think just like Justin Gilmbelstop one day he will do assualt due to road rage.

2. Bad mentality. He had the game to challenge big 3 but doesn't want to put in the effort. Anger issues.

3. Federer bootlicker. Instant issue with anyone who deifies Federer while bashing Djokovic. The idiot says Murray is better than Novak.

4. No class

1. Oh so this guy is less likely to get in to a road rage assault situation than Kyrgios? And this guy does not have anger issues?

Oh yeah sure...

LMAO! A majority of the youngsters idolize Fed just like a majority of tennis fans adore Fed. So they are all Fed bootlickers?

Djokovic has huge anger issues. I have been expecting him to be defaulted in an important match due to anger issues for very long time. Sadly it happened in USOpen last year.

So I don't think I am blind.

What really gets me is that hardly anyone brings up Vekic and how his comment might have made her feel. That’s inexcusable and it’s telling when so many don’t even care because he bags on Djokovic.

I have devoted most of my life to sports. Unsuccessfully. I have to earn my living othervise.
Anyone who has made it and does not show gratitude irritates the life out of me.

Let me start.

He is on anti bullying Australia, then bullies everyone.
He has the game to beat most, but then doesn’t care.
He takes shots at the best players of all time yet he hasn’t made a GS QF in years.
He talks **** about players not as talented who work there balls off to get up there yet won’t work on his talent.

People don't mind if you talk the talk as long as you can walk the walk.

He can't walk the walk so he should shut up.
Spot on. I don’t even mind the hate he gets when he tanks etc. It’s his life he can choose to tank or not care on court all he wants it’s the people’s fault for paying to see him. But talking **** about Djokodal who have 40 slams or players who aren’t as talented working there balls off to maximise there ability is the reason I hate him

There's no point hating him. He's a rather pathetic figure. You should feel sorry for him. He may have money but who would want to live in that head and with that record of constant failure?

I don’t hate actually hate, that is a strong word. I rarely comment in any threads about him or anything. He is irrelevant to me would be the best way to describe just the thread asked why and I gave my reasons

I don’t like his implied attitude of, if I cared more, I’d be the best player in the world.
ive heard things like that all my life in many different arenas. Put up or shut up. As far as I’m aware Nick has won a few 500 and 250 level events. He’s a good player no doubt, but I don’t think his ceiling is any higher than that.

This can't be true. Bart says the uppity white Wimbledon crowd has fallen in love with this naughty vulgar boy. These Brits just be easily amused.

That's a misconception of reality. It doesn't mean he's "the bad boy of tennis" that people dislike him.
The bad boy of tennis is Medvedev. That's a real example of a guy who speaks his mind and is completely unfiltered. Not my guy, but the game could use a character like him. Nick just picks fights for attention and makes the game more toxic.
I respect his charity work and advocacy for good causes, but his attitude (as far as tennis is concerned) is just about everything I dislike in a player. Insane narcissism with little effort to back it up, constant attention wh0ring, victim complex, zero respect for peers (just check some of his Twitter insults).

I fuc your woman.

Put yourself in that situation.

Trash talk is ok, have no problem with that.
There's trash talking, but sometimes players take it too far. Remember when Agassi and Sampras were messing with each other during an exho, and then Andre calls Pete a bad tipper and the whole mood gets awkward? Stuff like that.

The difference between them is that Djoker doesn't insult the referees and his opponents. When a Djoker needs to vent his anger, he directs it to the audience. Yes, there were several unfortunate incidents such as the roar on ball boy in Miami 2015, but Djoker apologized for that. Kyrgios, on the other hand, purposefully insults and provokes.

He has the potential to go like 10-2 or 20-5 against big3.
But he's satisfied with 2-0,1-0,1-1.

Agree. Mainstream and social media have contributed because the narrative from day one has been, "He's so supremely talented, if only..." followed by discussion about how he should improve work ethic/attitude/fitness/etc. It's exactly to your point--artificially puts him on the same level as the greats of the game---"If only...." He receives unwarranted respect as a player. This totally showed up on these boards at Wimbledon, when suddenly there was "Nick Fever" and people had him as the only guy with the chops to take out Novak. What?? Since when has he done anything? He's nowhere near that level. It made absolutely no sense at all, but solely from this bogus narrative of vast untapped talent.
