Damn that was quick. So much for the gradual transition to grass.

Oh well, I guess there's no better way to make that transition than to play. . .

malakas, what happened to Marcos at the French? I was hoping he would make some noise at Roland Garros; he shouldn't be getting beat by Simone Bolelli and by 6-2; 6-4; 6-2 no less. He must've stayed up late partying or something....

no,really it wasn't a big suprise.Markos was injured for almost 2 months, and RG was his first tournament out of injury,so he lacked matches, and Bolelli is a pretty good claycourter in contrast with Markos. But I hope the case will be quite different in Wimby.;)

Markos won the first 6-4 against Hernych.Funny the commentator on bet365 when showed some ppl watching the football match said oh look it seems some ppl find football more interesting  and then started commentating the football match!

Berrer hanging in there with Federer. He has more problems than Fed to hold, but Fed only had a BP in the first game. Berrer 4-3*.

In case anyone was wondering about Federer's chances at Wimbledon this year, he's just won his match 6-4, 6-2, during which he faced 1 break point. Seems to have regained his touch somewhat.

6-4 6-2 against #83. You cannot draw many conclusions about Fed's chances at Wimby from that (unless he would have lost.) Fed not looking particularly impressive, but probably he didn't feel challenged.

He is still looking a bit dispirited, but perhaps it is just the funerary black shirt.

Yes,but Mirka is here to cheer for him!:p

I am looking forward for a Fed-Bagh match. Roger will probably feel challenged there,we will be able to draw our conclusions and also enjoy great grasscourt tennis.:)

Fed seemed in great form today in his first match on grass this year,he always made transition to grass from clay so effortlessly.Berrer was no easy first round opponent,he was the only one who took a set from Fed last year in Basel.

i wouldn't say that if i had really watched the match. berrer was not bad at his volleys, it's just that he gets passed very often by fed. i think his unforced errors today can be counted with only 1 hand.

Yeah I watched the match as well(not live scores) and Fed looked in very good form, some of his passing shots were great,he also had a great serving day as well and hit around 10 aces I think.

Uh? I watched the match. But yeah, some people here can really watch, I just simply watch. :-P

Fed was clearly dominating his own serve. While Berrer's serve was clicking Fed wasn't getting many points, then Berrer started to double fault and spray groundies and the match went out the window.

We will see. Baggy and Youzhny should be a better test.

Funny picture on the main page of the ATP site: Look at the guy on the left side, looking at Federer.... Captured the moment!

lots of good matches today-Federer plays too but I'm looking forward to the last match of the day the magician Santoro versus Baggy!:D It looks like an entertaining match -first match between the 2.I will take Markos in 3 difficult sets.:)

Also,I would like to say Congratulations to Markos for being first in most pleasant player category in a poll of 89 ballboys/ballgirls of RG of the french tennis magazine.Because the true identity of a player is revealed in the courts, and it's important to win matches/titles but it's more important to be nice.:)

marcos already compared tennis to chess, so maybe today the comparison will be more valid than for most matches : it will be interesting to see him play santorov ! ;)
... and i hope we have our marcos-roger QF ! :)

Who were the top 5 nicest players in that list? Or did they just say the winner?
