How did figure it to be the declining program ?

because i'm not an idiot is the short answer

the slightly longer answer:

between 1980 and 2000 they won men's NCAAs 13 times, never going more than 3 years without a title (impressive as hell)

since then, 0 team titles, and haven't even been a minor factor in the team title race in the last few years (not so impressive)

QED my dear feddie

if you can think of a dumber question than the one you just asked, please feel free to send it my way...would you like me to explain how the Cavs have gotten worse since LeBron left?

Yea, he has, but I'd say his years are numbered. When was the last time they've gotten past the quarter finals? (I'm too lazy to look it up but I know it's been a few years)

I haven't tracked down all the recent brackets, but I did find the list of finalists. Stanford has not made it into the finals since their win in 2000. They probably have a semifinal appearance somewhere in the last decade, I would guess. Not exactly the standard Gould set.

NCAA appearances with Whitlinger:
2005: 2nd round
2006: Quarterfinals
2007: No appearance/DNQ
2008: 2nd round
2009: Round of 16
2010: Round of 16

Not much to boast about

Coach Whit has been able to put together the top 10 team in every year he had coached. That is a feat in itself.

Yes, it is a feat for a coach to produce top ten teams that don't make it past the round of 16. har har.

Like i said, we will win it this year. and Alex Clayton will win the individual NCAA championships thus making it clean sweep for Stanford in NCAA championships. There will be some fireworks in Palo alto. That is for sure.

Unless Clayton makes a big surge in the individual rankings, he won't even be in the field of 64 for the singles title. You know, like last year.

haha, it wouldn't be the first time Clayton failed to qualify for a tournament feddie predicted him to win (ex: ITA AA this year)

I'll put my left nut on none of these happening

i'd be careful with that one, fedace may well set off some fireworks - he'll be kind of bored since stanford will barely be participating in the tournament:

probably just klahn-thacher in dubs, just klahn and thacher in singles, and a 50% chance stanford makes it out of regionals as a team and participates in the main event
