Djokovic has not defeated Nadal on clay since 2017. To say that "Djokovic did not defeat Nadal in Rome because he was subpar is equally unobjective as saying that Nadal did not defeat Djokovic in Australia because he was subpar".

So Nadal can't harm Djokovic on hard, just like Djokovic can't harm Nadal on clay. On grass, their H2H is 2-2 (with Djokovic leading 2-1 at Wimbledon) and last year's final was as close as it can get.
I don't know what has happened with Nadal in Australia this year. He was great until final, suddenly he collapsed more than usual. I am just saying that there is psychological aspect which sometimes we aren't really aware of. Djokovic feeds of playing Nadal, I can literally say that out loud. He feeds of playing against Fed too, but much more against Nadal. In some weird way Nadal gives Djokovic strength to continue fighting and chasing Slams. Other side of the coin - Nadal sinks a bit when he is playing Djokovic. Fed too.

In a retrospective, it was kind of predictable. Nadal’s movement was not great all the tournament, and he had some kind of abdominal injury half way through.

Low on momentum and confidence too. I watched some highlights of his matches at AO lately, and the fire that Nadal usually brings with him on court just wasn’t there. The real Nadal who we all love/hate showed up only from SF against Thiem in Barcelona.

If.....BIG IF....Nadal goes through both Roger and Novak to win this Wimby, it will go down as the best/biggest/toughest grand slam win of his career.

Boom!

I was pretty psyched to see their sf at rg a month ago. Then it was a drubbing. This one will go five, hopefully. May the tennis be spectacular. Allez!

I was going to make a snappy montage with this featuring Nadal, but I got lazy. Please just imagine funny Nadal heads flying around screen timed to the music. Thanks.

Love the visuals, and also the soundstrack! Genius, man. It's not even music. It's as though a non musician discovered autotune, for horrible car sounds.
