Ghostwire which gauge is best?

For those that use it, which gauge did you prefer and at what tension? I know Yonex Pro poly is totally different but how would you compare the 2? I thought Ghostwire had more control, dwell time, but less pop.

It depends on what I am hybrid I am using.

1.22mm with 1.25mm polys
1.27mm with 1.30 or 1.35mm gut

why? Keeping the diameter of the two strings as close as you can will decrease the sawing effect

which do you prefer the thicker diameter be, the mains or the cross?

i have found that thinner cross will provide a more elastic feeling string bed which is what i prefer…did not particularly enjoy 1.27 cross with 1.30 main because although the sawing effect is reduced, so are power and spin

This probably won't answer your question, but I keep 16, 17 & 19 gauges in my inventory. Only string it in hybrids setups. It totally depends on who I'm stringing for, what racquet it is going in, what hybrid combo we are using, and if the player prefers more durability or more playability.

Not really. Of the top of my head some favorites GW crosses are:
1. Mayami Absolute Perfection Mains 17g 54# / Ghost Wire Cross 19g 48#
2. Mayami Big Spin Mains 17g 48# / Ghost Wire Cross 17g 42#
3. Klip Nat. Gut Mains 17g 54# / Ghost Wire Cross 17g 48#

All such strange under the radar string brands where do you people find these strings lol

I've used 16 & 17 as a cross only.
The 16 feels softer and lower power with really good playability duration. Excellent in open pattern frames. My fave in a gut/poly setup currently.
The 17 feels crisper and livelier with poorer tension maintenance. Better suited in tight pattern frames.

Under the radar brands? Definitely. They are small niche companies that don't have huge marketing budgets or have shoes, racquets, bags, clothing items to reinforce their brands and puff up their bottom lines.

Tier One has been around for a while (circa 2012). Started using their strings back in 2016. Mayami Strings - not sure when they started - I've been diggin' since November 2019. I'm guessing you probably haven't heard of Grapplesnake, YTex, Gracelyne or Toroline?

Where to find them? Here on TW.

Strange? The strings themselves aren't, but a lot of the hybrids I throw in a frame definitely are
