Giorgi new racket?

Enlighten us. How would YOU know what suits her best? I wouldn't expect anyone else than Giorgi, her father/coach to be close enough to the subject to know what suits her best.

This whole discussion is nonsense. She very likely lost her endorsement from Babolat and painted over her old frames, until she found a new sponsor.
Cause that's my opinion...you don't like it ignore please.
Cheers

My statement wasn't meant in a negative way, I know Yonex is heavily used in the WTA . I'm a Yonex user myself and know first hand the quality of their racquets. Camila (at least to me) seems to beat at the pace of her own drum. She doesn't do a lot of interviews, she doesn't endorse any of the major brands, (she wears her mom's clothing line) and her last racquet also did not have a stencil. I'm happy to see a Yonex racquet in her hands, she can definitely wield it. I hope they give her a contract and make it official.

Yeah I don't doubt that, I hope she does sign with Yonex. They're a good company and I think a major endorsement would obviously be a good for her financially.
I heard Yonex gives pretty good pay to their players.
Actually, I don't really know how much a pro makes off racquet endorsements ... or what a high number would even be compared to clothing and shoes.
Would you say $30K a year for endorsing? Is that how it works?

Although she's clearly using the Yonex. I would have never thought she'd go "mainstream" with her racquet.. she's always been eccentric. But then again.. the Vcores are everywhere right now. Especially on WTA. It's Vcore every which way you look.

Karue would be shocked, she’s chosen the 2018 Vcore 98! And it’s a retail version, no glossy paint... :)
Nothing shocking about that. Lot of pros use off the shelf racquets like Nadal 15 years ago and still very succesfull i think. I find it more shocking she seems to switch every year from racquet model and brand.

I think it would be reasonable if endorsement pay is dependant on players ranking. Anyway it is said players earn more money by endorsing articles and services than actually by their price money even in non corona years! Walking advertisements they are.

I simply hope Giorgi plays better with the Yonex than her previous frame! If so, she might be offered a racquet contract based strictly on results, but this would only happen if she requested such a contract and would be willing to comply with it.

Well, that vid confirms it. Looks like Giorgi is playing well at the Aussie Open with the Yonex VCore 98 (100?) and has a Yonex stencil on the strings. So Camila must've signed a contract for '21 and money aside, it looks like it's a worthwhile effort.

If I had to guess, I'd lean towards the 98 as that is closer to her original frame, the Pure Control/Storm. But, it is interesting that she's using the 2018 PJ. I wonder if she signed too late and didn't have an opportunity to get a 2018 w/ the 2021 PJ.

Or, it could be she asked for some of the last gen VC98 and had them modified to her specs. She liked the frames, but didn't want to get new graphics added. Yonex might have acquised in allowing her to use the older graphics, since they can't be paying much in this first contract.
