Mpetshi Perricard. I like his big game, big serve, great volleys. One thing he should improve more is his single handed backhand especially on the return of serve. He made Sonego look like a challenger player.

His coach looks like Peter Lundgren, lol:

Emmanuel Planque

I think he's 6 foot 8! He serves 227 kph regularly!

I Just watched this match and saw couple agressive early BH returns on kick serve Overally i think his Backhand return on second serves looked more impresive then FH imo Maybe because he tried attakck early before ball bounced high

On the first serve he just chip the ball but its normal against Kyrgios i think

I caught a little bit of the 3rd set and all I saw was aces and unreturned serves. Even Kyrgios was smirking a bit. Crazy serve he has.

I like watching him play, a big guy with a big game. I really hope he becomes a staple in the top 10 top 15.

He is a very welcome addition to the tour IMO.
This guy is exciting to watch. Big serve. I haven’t had much time to watch how he moves against opponents who can counter his power. Interested to see his draw in austraila and how deep he can go. None of the top 10 will want to see him in the 3rd round.

Respect the big serves, but nothing else really. Getting to top 15 can be a challenge.
Watched the whole match today and I reckon with more matches under NK’s belt, he’d have a better chance beating GMP next time.
To be fair, thought NK did pretty well today, considering he hasn’t had a (proper) singles match in over 500 days. lol.

NK said after the match that he had soreness/pain in his wrist.
So maybe he won’t be winning any big tournaments anytime soon.

Yeah. He had a trainer rubbing something on his elbow and pill during a MTO. He was putting more wrist tapes on his wrist a few time.
I think he had less than a handful of 200+km/h serves. So may be he is protecting his joints for now.
I think playing doubles is a good idea at this stage of his comeback.

His second serve might be in contention with ATG first serves lol. Could be doing better on return but winning 20ish% return points against a server like King K isn't the worst thing in the world. IIRC he won Basel last year without even being broken.

lol. Which other Giovanni is also an current/active professional tennis player?
I don't remember the first names of all current active professional tennis players in order to answer to your question.

That was a pretty good effort by you in the other thread basically predicting the exact score and sets order. GMP looks like he is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

He moves well for his height. In the last match he had to sprint to the far right corner and then made an incredible forehand topspin down the line passing shot winner.

He was able to chase drop shots and won points from those.

Nice. I’m hoping we see some upcoming talent push some of the top guys.
I like sinner and alcaraz but it gets boring to see them dominate the rest of the field.

Is his return better than Karlovic's?

BTW, I won this thread: Karlovic's, the tallest 1HBH.

It might be better. Karlovic had the worst return for a pro I’ve ever seen.

GMP has lots of time to improve though and I think he will.

Everybody is talking about his return. Meanwhile Kyrgios or Mensik - who is playing against right now arę Huge servers and compared to them MP return stats looks supreme.

On numbers in first set against Mensik return makes the difference Of course it may be misleading because as good Mensik server is he is not as impresive as as MP.
