She's awesome and has been really playing great the last few months, the misspelling of her name on the thread isn't so awesome. Some other great wins by Sorana this week: Garcia, Sakkari!
She has been doing it for the last 14 months or so (since last year's AO), kinda of a swan song. She's gort Garcia's # and now Sakkari. Last year she beat Sabalenka and had 3 top 5 wins in one month alone.
She is an attacking player, who now moves better and has patience to construct the points under the influence of the new coach:
Thomas Johansson and Sorana Cirstea: The new successful duo on the WTA tour
With ex-top ten man Thomas Johansson, Sorana Cirstea has apparently found a coach who inspires her to new heights on the WTA tour. And who also brought her to the semifinals in Miami.www.tennisnet.com
Thanks!
Well, it is a misspelling, excusable maybe, by some confusion, due to a recent change: that's how we used to write that vocal with "I" and not "A".She's awesome and has been really playing great the last few months, the misspelling of her name on the thread isn't so awesome.
She looks so different now from the pic in your avi. Great player to root for!Sorana Cîrstea (49 WTA) - Daria Gavrilova (Australia, 25 WTA) 2-0
I have you in my avatar
Well, she is older now.She looks so different now from the pic in your avi.
I saw her, sitting at a table behind me, in a restaurant a couple of years ago (post 3 above), she might be a tad older now and very slim. She looks so different now from the pic in your avi. Great player to root for!
Always love it when Cristian comes out in her vampire outfit at the Transylvania Open.
Though it used to be more in line with Halloween, now it's early in the year.
Yeah, she (rated #81 now) beat Clara Tauson, #80 WTA 6-4, 6-0 and she is in the quarters of Transylvania Open. And Cristian won today!
Sorana has now moved to Dubai (she spends half a year there and she plays this tournament, staying at home, 1h away) and is now in the quarters:

Exactly. I was going to say that a picture is worth a 1,000 words...Haha true, a picture is worth many words.
That make up and photo session came out remarkably good, sorana looks wonderful.
There's also a somehow relevant racquet in the picture if you look closely, lol.
She is not the favorite in the semis as Paolini is in great shape, runs a lot and is rested (after Rybakina pulled off against her in the quarters).Great comeback win today over Vondy, and a really good shot at the finals considering her opponent in the semis. I'll be pulling for her. FOR her.

And that shot of her on the bed is the type of picture you would see in a Yonex advertisement if they were selling perfume instead of racquets.
Vekic who has taken Sabalenka out!One of the greatest comebacks ever. Yesterday after beating Vekic in a tough match, Sorana walked around the stadium for about two minutes thanking all the groups of people who were cheering her on. Classy move.
Is there another one, besides the sudden death one?We know, we have a tourney thread.
