GOAT created new records today

18th French open quarter final. He has not lost before quarterfinal since 2009 when he lost in R3. Otherwise, we have to go back directly to 2005 when as a recently turned 18 year old, he took first set of Coria who was finalist 1 year back.
This is the same guy who has been in 20th edition of RG. Something which itself is insane.

Now equalled Federer for most slam qf at 1 particular slam. 18 for Federer at Wimbledon as well.

Sole owner of most slam qf as well now. Beaten Federer's record of 58. Federer has played 6/7 more slams to reach 58.

Most slam matches won as well now at 370.

So on grand slam level.

Most slams
Most finals
Most semis
Most quarters
and Most match wins

All belong to Djokovic. And he is still world number 1. Insane.

Super excited for the rest of RG, have no idea what will happen for sure but I think Djokovic will win the whole thing now

To add insult to injury, when was the last time Federer lost 2 of his legacy records on the same day?
No idea. But it doesn't matter. This was long time coming. Fed didn't do enough in his early years like Nole did. Nole was making slam semis in a row before fed even made 1 semis

He was one game away from defeat. Still very much injured.
Conodolo choked and could not put the wounded Djoker away.
He was moving much more breezily in the fifth and the off-balance, awkward, lunging shots were almost completely gone. Level was very high. Maybe it was just adrenaline but seemed like whatever was bothering him earlier had mostly resolved itself, as it usually does when he looks like he's struggling mid-match.

Such two hard-fought 5-setter wins in a row on clay for the 37-year-old GOAT.
I am just glad he survives another day to secure his 370th slam win and 59th slam QF to set two records.

Adrenaline. Sheer determination. Mind over body.
The same reason marathoners can miraculously finish with a broken leg.

Perhaps Federer was too busy inhaling his own fumes telling him he was "great" (or inhaling that of his worshipers) to concentrate on going that far.
