Goffin slams Zverev: "He doesn't care a bit about others"

Some of the people that hate Zverev like Kyrgios though.

Count me in on that, because Nick has 100 times the talent than Z. Talent doesn't always equal results (Mecir, Leconte, Santoro), but Nick has that spark. If he trained and was mentally into tennis, he would be a colossal star. Zverev to me is about on par with Raonic: a robot with minimal talent (compared to someone like Mac, Fed) and a huge ego. Nick can be an ass, sure... but he's entertaining as hell!

I prefer Kyrgios to Zverev as well. By quite a margin.

Do you think Nick is more talented than Nadal or Djokovic and if you do how come?

We like everyone but Zverev

The official name is “anyone but Zverev”

It’s a clan of turtles that sometimes gets the assignments muddled up between furious gifs and spoilers.

I’m an honarary member myself.

Now that @Federer and Del Potro has shown us the ugly reflection of our deepest hypocrisies we can get back to hating Zverev with the purest of hearts and the strength of ten.

In the end we're all guilty of it. It's what makes this place so fantastical.

Yes, I do. Without any question in my mind. He is effortless in his strokes, doesn't train and doesn't care, yet he gets up for big matches and has repeatedly defeated big guns. You don't have Annacone and Mac saying "he's the greatest talent since Fed" without him being very special. Again: results do not equate with talent.

Djokovic to me is like Lendl (whom I adored): extremely hard worker and very fit, though I prefer Ivan because he forced himself mid career to learn to serve and volley, and did so "competently." Djoker can't volley to save his life and he's 31 and at the tail end of his career. Nadal is talented, of course and a very special ATG because of his colossal mental strength, fitness and commitment. Nick is obviously has much more innate talent, I don't even know why it's a discussion. Mecir or Leconte never won a slam but have more talent than Nadal.

I don't argue with this, do you?

I think if somehow after the big 4 Nick wins a GS he might get serious after having tasted a GS victory.

Well if Nick is so much more talented than Djokodal, and Fed is much more talented than Nick, how come Federer hasn’t accomplished relatively so much more than Djokodal, being that much more talented? You would then have to admit Federer isn’t nearly as hard-working as those two, which we all know is a BS and it would be a big insult to someone who says "there isn’t anyone who loves tennis more than me". I have a hard time beliving Nick would accomplish the same feats as Nadal if he put in the same work purely based on how effortless his shots look (they don’t look THAT effortless IMO, he grunts during points and occasionally pulls of a few tweeners because he’s bored). His shots look like Ferrer’s if you compare them to the effortless strokes of Fed, who has put in a lot of work into the sport and is still being chased by 5 years younger Nadal, who apparently posseses a fraction of his talent.

And McEnroe is often full of sh*t, one day he says Federer is the greatest ever and the next he says the same thing about Nadal.

@Federer and Del Potro , you may need to atone for your act of leading a turtle off the reservation (aquarium? habitat? sewer?)

His hypocrisy in your shine of your mirror was so startling he seems to have now found himself in the ‘No one but Zverev’ postal code.

I’ve cautioned them for some time about the furious gifs and spoilers.

This is the consequence.

I'd love to see it. I find his game highly entertaining and creative. I like the whole anti-hero persona as well.

I think this year's AO was tailor made for him to at least make the SF and possibly the F. He blew it to Dimitrov of all people and we've seen nothing since that time from Nick. It'd be fun to be wrong but it's probably not going to materialize.

Nadal is plainly a phenomenal talent. If he wasn't other players would have copied his forehand technique. The fact no one is replicating it shows it must be very difficult to time balls coming at pace using his technique. In that sense he's a unique talent to have come through so young with a style of his own.

Zverev may not care about others, but it's not really his job to care about his opponent on court. For example there was a situation when the rain started where Nadal was down break point on a second serve. Zverev held up his second serve supposedly because of crowd movement behind the server. Plainly an alteration to the server's rhythm at that point is a negative. Zverev's opponents need to reciprocate...start breaking his rhythm on second serve and similar tactics.
