Hello all
I currently play with the Wilson Blade 98 16x19 countervail with the Wilson Revolve Spin 1.25mm strings strung at 22.5 kg and 3.62g lead weight at 3 and 9 o clock. I am going to try out the Yonex series. So I have 4 candidates
- Yonex EZONE DR 98 (310g)
- Yonex VCORE Duel G 97 (310g)
- Yonex VCORE Duel G 97 (330g)
- Yonex VCORE SV 98 (305g)
How do all of these feel/play? How do they feel/play/line up compared to the Wilson Blade? How do they feel in comparision to one another? I need all of your guys opinions as I'm going to have to rent them from TW as I reside in Mallorca, Spain where Yonex is litterally none existing. I play 6 times a week in a tennis academy and play a lot of tournaments.

Thank you
J.

1. Watch the TW reviews. They frequently compare things to the blade. General consensus seems to be more power from the SV/DR than from the blade. But darn the Blade feels solid.

The Duel G are both going to be less powerful but offer good feel and more control compared to the Blade or either of the other Yonex frames.

Don't let the lack of Yonex retailers slow you down. They are great racquets.
The SV is very much a tweener.
DR less so, but still could be considered a tweener.
Duel G series are player's frames, they would be most similar to your Blade.

J,

I think you will find some success with the SV as well as the DR series. The Duel G is a solid frame, but it does not have as much power as your current Blade; the 330 would be out of the question for sure. You should definitely give the SV 98 or SV 98 + as well as the DR 98 and 98 + a chance. Yonex has some solid frames and you'll find that they just have a certain feel other racquets do not possess. I've always tried to play Yonex since I got on board with the Tour G 330g and now I'm back with the DR 98+; they are something special. Make sure you give them a real good test because you may be guessing what could have been if you don't. :)
