Golf Site Criticises Wimbledon

I do agree that the organizers are stuffy, elitist pr****s for making Dan Evans go through pre qualifying. Though I have to defend them here.

Wimbledon is in a residential area. The council and local residents would complain. If they set the trend of extending beyond the curfew, players would forever pressure them to extend matches. Then they would get the added complaint of favoritism.

They really should have resumed the Djoko Nadal semi at 11am, the schedule allowed it. Even if it didn’t, they were the only match that day extended over two days.

Servebots are here to stay and rallies are longer. Bearing that in mind, I think the only solution is for the fifth set to be reduced to a tie break. They have to acknowledge the impact of the curfew. It was practically rain free this year, they shouldn’t be falling behind schedule.

Americans should not have input into any sport, they have no tradition, culture and lack education at all levels of society. NFL NBA MBL are the prime examples of the soulless society which I pray every day doesnt become the norm for the rest of the world
Lol, nice rant,.. had me enthralled until “MBL”

When Wimbledon wanted to put a roof on, the council agreed in exchange for a curfew.

It was a deal to which Wimbledon agreed.

The same thing will happen at RG once they have a roof.

Oh, and it is "once a year" for three weeks.

8-)

:cool:
Still the residents should eat it

@mika1979
anyway, the curfew wasn't Wimbly's free choice. it was an agreement with the local citizens, so there was pressure on the tournament and we don't know how much (maybe legal threats).
