Hey everyone. Can you guys recommend some good books to read about tennis strategy? Ive read Winning Ugly, Inner Game of Tennis, and Think to Win. Im just looking for some more reads that deal with overall strategy, in a chess kind of way.....if that makes any sense.
Any good ones out there??
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Read the feedback section on those books listed in the TennisWarehouse book section. This can help you too.

The three books you have mentioned are probably the best overall mentally tough building books...not specific on strategy per se, however.

My two books both discuss singles and doubles strategies, mental toughness, and how to develop both. I will leave it to those who have read them to offer any feedback. (I'm probably a little too subjective in reviewing my own books!)

Think to Win and Winning Ugly were my favorites.
Winning Ugly gave good examples of how to play different types of players. You have to get through the parts where Gilbert just kind of relives his glory moments but its pretty good.
Think to Win was good because it had little drawings that explained why you should hit shots to certain places in a given situation. It also has pictures of how to hit the strokes but I didnt really pay too much attention to that. My main concentration was learning proper court positioning.
Inner Game is good but for different reasons. Its about the mental game of tennis and concentration. I must say it didnt really do anything for me. Or did it? For the longest time I have been easily frustrated on the court when I wasnt doing well or if it just wasnt going my way. Id rant and rave and yell at myself. It was long after I read the book but one day after getting thrashed in a consolation final I just said the hell with the yelling and Ive been playing better ever since.
Anyway, I dont think there is anything in these books you cant find online (generally speaking), but I like being able to refer back to a particular chapter sometimes for a refresher.

To Coaching, Ill have to check out your books. Im looking for books that deal specifically with strategy. Thanks.
