Good poly/multi hybrids

Hi guys,

I currently use solinco revolution @54lbs in my radical mp. I've decided to go for a hybrid with poly in the mains and multi in the crosses. I would quite like spin and control from the poly and the multi could give it a little more power and feel. Something with x one biphase looks good. Has anyone got any suggestions?

I would suggest trying out babolat addiction or genesis thunderblast. Spending the money for x1 in the crosses is a waste. Revolution does a good job of shining through a hybrid with a softer cross, so I wouldn't worry too much about losing the spin. If you don't break strings, I would actually suggest looking at Mantis Comfort Synthetic. It will really help soften up the string bed and give you a little more power. It isn't very durable, though.

In short, I personally liked genisis thunderblast and babolat addiction as crosses with poly mains, but Comfort Synthetic also works well.

I've been stringing my racquet with a full Luxilon ALU Power Spin setup, but sometimes I give my arm a break and use NXT for a hybrid job.

Granted, the Spin version of the string shreds any synthethic so I would use the Rough version if I were to use that setup permanently.

I'm actually looking for the same kind of things myself. My fav recent set up was actually Pro's Pro Hexaspin/N.vy, but it wasn't quite what I want. That said, I'd definitely recommend Nvy as a cross string. Anyhow, re polys/multis I'm about to explore a whole bunch including WC Scorpion, RIP, TCS, MCS and Xcel.

I was just looking at a thread from schap02 saying I should give as much info as possible to get better answers, so here it goes:

I am from the UK and we have a completely different ratins system but I am an advanced player.
I like to play aggressive by hitting spin from rally balls and them coming forward to maybe hit a flat winner and I sometimes finish it off at the net.
I currently use the Head Youtek Radical MP, however I am getting the IG version tomorrow.
I currently use solinco revolution @54lbs.
I don't have a set price limit but as long as its not very expensive, for example gut.
I feel that I would like poly/multi hybrid as I used to play with them before I started experimenting with other strings and I remember playing very well with them.
I would like to enlarge the sweet spot as I don't hit it cleanly every time and I would like to hot it cleanly like federer each time. (but obviously not as well as he does)
Finally, I have had no elbow or arm issues up to date.

If you like revolution, you would probably like WeissCANNON Black5Edge mains and Genesis Thunderblast as a cross. Babolat Addiction or maybe Prince Premier Attack could also work well as a cross.

Glad you saw that thread :) .

Today I tried the new setup that's in my sig (MSV cofocus mains and Mantis comfort synthetic crosses) and presto, MAGNIFICENCE.

I used it as a cross once with Black5edge mains and it worked pretty darn well. NRG just has such a great feel. The only problem is the lack of spin in a full bed.

That's the thing, I've used bhbr/nrg2 felt good but only could feel the multi, still had no spin.
Thinking next time I use nrg2, use it with tour bite, again the problem which I've read on here is that poly/multi don't properly gel together- which is what I found in bhbr/nrg2, once the ball was on your racket you can feel the multi then after ball leaves you feel the poly:confused:
