Good shoes for fast tennis players

Hello,

After playing tennis with the "Wilson Rush Pro 3 shoes" which I was very satisfied with, I am now looking for new shoes.
I am looking for a similar or better shoe. Because of my size (5ft 7) I mainly rely on my speed.

Do you know a good men tennis shoe that is focuses mainly on speed?

Thanks in advance!

Every shoemaker has a speed based offering that has merit. It depends also on your foot width.

Check out the " Foot Doctor Zach " channel on youtube.

He tests, takes apart and compares most shoes and makes a decent attempt at being scientific and consistent about it.
He also advice on what fits different types of feet and use cases, which is important because what is suitable to you may different from someone else.

I have used the Rush pro 3, liked them a lot, but also like the Asics gel Challenger shoes. They have similar fit as the rush pro, and are very light weight. I like to run as well, and the Asics not only light weight, they are very comfortable, and no break in necessary.

Wilson rush pro 3.5 are pretty nice shoes. My guess is Asic line might be the best for what I think you are looking for which is basically a close enough shoe instock.

Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 4 are a good replacement. Asic Gel Challenger or Asic Speed FF series.

Kswiss Hypercourt Supreme are well fitting light shoes, just not as durable as most speed players like. I am gentle on shoes and enjoy the glove like fit.

Thanks for the all information!

I doubt now between the Wilson rush pro 3.5 and the Asics Speed FF 2.
I think I'll go for the rush pro 3.5 because I'm already used the 3.0.

Or is the Asics Speed FF 2 a much better shoe for running?

I'm looking for the all round version because I regularly tennis indoors and outdoors.

had the Asics speed FF2- yes it's great for running, can be used clay or hard court. quite comfortable sock like uppers

they're good for sliding as well, however their durability as a result is a bit lower than what I desired. I wore through the entire tread on the toe area on both sides from repeated sprints after 3 months of play and ended up selling them as I no longer felt comfortable and had a few near falls.

although the foot doc Zach of YouTube said the shoelaces were low quality, IMO they're normal shoelaces, more of a flat profile rather than round, however they are short if you use the marathon runners knot.

they're hard to find and the only color I was able to get in my size was the orange/black one, which IMO looks a bit too flashy for my tastes

I was going to recommend the Rush Pro before I opened this thread. It's the only shoe that is fast and comfortable, and is often overlooked for whatever reason.

Ubersonic 4, vapor pro, mizuno exceed tour 4 would be my top picks for speed shoes. The fit of the mizuno is the best for me. super comfortable. vapor pro feels like the sleekest/fastest but its a little narrow in some spots and doesnt offer as natural of a fit. Ubersonic is great if you need a little wider fit while still having a locked in feel. Rush pro's dont feel fast to me. Feels too restrictive around the ankle.

Weird thoughts here, but...

As a little/fast guy myself, I used to wear strictly Vapors--gotta use my speed, right?

Only...I realized I was playing better in my 'practice' shoes (Nike Cage 2). Since then, my logic has been that I already have enough speed, and need to focus more on durability and support.

So now, I wear the heaviest shoes...Nike Cage 4 and GP Turbo. Much happier this way. YMMV

Gel Resolutions feel fast alhough they are heavy.

A shoe which is well balanced and makes you feel confident is key. SO weight isn't the only thing to look consider. We are talking an ounce or so. Basically I tend to prefer best fit, then lowest weight possible.

I like them, even prefer them on clay, not so much on hc(less frontal support since ver 5, causing pains in the balls of my feet/metatarsalgia).

+1 for the Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 4

the Solution Speed FF2 is good, but the Mizuno is a level up, ime.
