How much does it take away from Graf's possible GOAT claims that she is 1-4 vs Navratilova at the U.S Open, when Martina was weeks away from turning 30 at the time of their 2nd of 5 matches, and Graf was in her prime starting with their 2nd of 5 matches. Navratilova even choked away a 6-3, 4-2 lead in their 4th match or it would be 5-0. This is their most neutral surface as Martina is the superior Wimbledon grass and carpet player, and Graf the superior clay and rebound ace player. Slow Australian grass might have been another toss up. It seems this would make it hard to think Graf would have done well against Martina with both players in their primes, as even old past her prime Martina owned prime Graf at their most neutral meeting ground.
