Grand Slam Re- Seeding Ideas?

Anyone out there up for a reseeding idea in the round 16 where all the remaining players are re ranked with old draw thrown out and order of play is done by seeding 1-16? ie 1 plays 16 and 2 plays 15? Either that or maybe give the higher seed the ability to pick their opponent or time of play. or go into a round robin in the final 4 and have the most sets won win

I know the upper echelon of tennis already has a major advantage as it is and no need to give them more. But it may not be that way forever and this assuming that there was more parity in the sport.

Edit: Sorry I wasnt clear on this same 128 draw. When down to the final 16 the old draw is thrown out and they reseed remaining players based on the rankings of the remaining one. It rebalances the remaining players

Really bad move this. Federer vs Kyrgios, Nadal vs Djokovic and Djokovic vs Murray will be possible first round matches.

Agree. The majors are all doing great with attendance figures. Ain’t broke, don’t fix it. 32 seeds has been working.

This sounds like another ‘suggestion’ from the TV overlords who hope to create ‘drama’.

OP, the draw is what it is. Despite the protests of many TW posters, who could sorely use a statistics class, in the long run the good/bad draws even out.

PS - the 2nd Monday R16 in its current form at Wimbledon is the best day in tennis, year after year. No changes required.

It would be interesting to see a hockey style draw. But they wouldnt be able to fix matches so it will never happen

Their is an easy solution/options that would keep "luck" out of the draw and keep organizers from hiding behind supposed "randomness" that studies have shown in some instances to be highly unlikely...
