Grass to become Nole's best surface?

On grass the gap between oldies and youngsters is still big. The youngest to ever reach a Wimbledon semi is Dimitrov who is 28 years old. Plus Novak is improving his serve, the most important shot on grass (tied with the return maybe).

With 1 more Wimbledon title it could be argued that grass is his best surface (6 titles in one grass slam > 10 titles in two hardcourt slams). With 3 more titles and a 3-0 lead in Wimbledon finals over Federer, it could be argued that he's the best ever on the surface.

Novak is better on grass than the USO but not AO. So 3 more grass slams to argue he is better than on all HCs.
If Novak gets to 8 titles he can be argued to be the best on grass and even with 7 due to the 3-0 H2H.

I have never seen Lew being so offensive to Djoke.

He just said that Djoke underperformed on HCs.

Absolutely no way is grass, a surface in which guys struggle to play, comparable to what he does on hard courts. The same is true of Roger, really. Like 85, maybe 90% of players around today like hard courts over all other surfaces, so dominating on that is something far more impressive than winning Wimbledon again and again in a period when most guys barely know how to move on grass.

Yeah... uh you know they have more than one grass tourney... so what is his tally on grass now? 6?

Fed has 19 and 8 slams....

What are you even talking about?

Excellent post, you make a great point.

Wimbledon might be the last bastion of Big 4 dominance once they start losing to NextGen (and Thiem), they might use Wimby to extend their records or slam race or whatever.
