Hi there. For all you Gravity Pro users, I am just wondering if you have done any customizations? If so, I would love to know. Please mention your string setup too. Thank you.
Added 1g each at 3,9, and 12 o'clock, 5-6g at 7" above the butt cap (2 small coins - 1 on each wide side of the grip near top of handle), 2 overgrips (1 no overlap, and second as standard), and a rubber band dampener (No.64 I think). Strung the racquet with T1 Strike Force RIP (1.23mm) @ 52M/50C but feels softer as it was one of my first string jobs I did myself (on a drop-weight machine).
The static weight is 353g (strung) and the balance is 315mm (strung). Not sure about the SW.
Plays awesome, no problems with maneuverability... very impressed.
I forgot to mention that it weighs at 340g and I used Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour at 56lbs.I played with the Gravity Pro a fair bit in 2019 but sold it last year. I then sorta got into the mindset of a "tennis snob" and started embracing only 95 sq inch racquets as this was what most of the pros were using (that was literally my rational). So for last year I mostly played a Vcore 95 which I admit I still like a lot! However, this year I started to feel that I wanted to reconnect firstly with my Graphene Speed Pro and I love that racquet! It then made me think of the Gravity Pro and I managed to find one on sale and so I purchased it. I played it for the first time again a few days ago and it is a beautiful racquet! I jumped the gun and added 2g of lead at 12 and it felt alright (I also had 2g countered at the handle and I play with a 5g overgrip). This was the "tennis snob" in me again saying that I need to play with a SW closer to 340. I am starting to realise that I actually maybe do best with a SW in the low 330s. So I took the lead off my Gravity Pro currently. I did add another 2g down at the handle and initial shadow swings feel good - whippy and maneuverable. I will eventually do the manual swingweight experiment to get an idea of the actual swingweight. I hit tonight. I am tracking data since I use a Zepp sensor with it. Based on the feel and data, I will then make tweaks.
I def second the "NO leather grip". I, myself, am a leather guy but stuck with the stock grip and liking it.Mine were all matched and slightly over spec. I have tried a bunch of things with it. I finally found that adding some weight into the handle with blue tac and NO leather grip is great. I am a leather guy, and I can’t explain it but the stick is easier to use without it. I believe mine are
What is MGR / I?The published TW specs of the Gravity Pro has an MGR/I of 21.25. Adding weight to the handle will drop that down and make the racket a little faster. You end up with a faster racket (more maneuverable) with about the same plow. Yet few people believe MGR/I makes any difference.
A ratio of (mass * gravity* balance) / inertia. Search for some of @travlerajm’s post on the forum or google. The published TW specs of the Gravity Pro has an MGR/I of 21.25. Customized and matched 4 GP to get the balance down to 31cm unstrung and the SW to 305 kg.cm2.Hi there. For all you Gravity Pro users, I am just wondering if you have done any customizations? If so, I would love to know. Please mention your string setup too. Thank you.
If you really meant unstrung, yes very easily. This is basically what Rublev plays. But you will get a 365g strung racquet...Can a Gravity Pro be customized to unstrung specs of 340g, 30.5cm?
yes I would need to find a Gravity Pro with unstrung SW in low 290's.. Doubt theres many out there. If you really meant unstrung, yes very easily. This is basically what Rublev plays. But you will get a 365g strung racquet...
The thing is that the GP has one of the highest SW on the market so it will be 365g with a SW of at least 340 kg cm2 (strung).
I measured more than 10 for my needs and the lowest SW I found on a GP was 295 unstrung... It is usually around 300.yes I would need to find a Gravity Pro with unstrung SW in low 290's.. Doubt theres many out there.
Wow. Gravity Pro looks like its already has enough weight. Unless you're playing really heavy hitters (like James Blake or Fernando Gonzalez, lol), I won't suggest doing any mod other than adding a leather grip and matching the racquets (should be performed by a trained professional only).
