Gravity pro vs head prestige mp/pro

FEDERER89

Semi-Pro
Anyone have any thoughts on these rackets ?

Got a head prestige mp 18x19 one by mistake. Forgot they changed the name ‍♂️and man it actually hits super nice. Found out as I’m hitting with it.

17g mains / 18g cross hyper g at 52 lbs

Thinking about the gravity pro since there’s a good deal on it.

Wondering what others think of gravity pro, prestige pro 18x20, prestige mp 18x19 ?

I think they named the Prestige line weirdly. I like 18x19 string patterns. Gravity main advantage is a little extra power and a forgiving sweetspot. Gravity overall it a little easier to use.

I played briefly with a prev gen prestige and with recent Gravity MP. From what I gather, they are a quite similar, Gravity being a bit more powerful and easier to use - it is still very much a control racket. I think Prestige could be a bit difficult to handle in a tougher defensive situation.
I had a similar dilemma recently and decided to go for Gravity pro, as soon as it releases next month.

Gravity Pro is a great frame to pummel the ball. Not exactly the monster Pure Drive explosiveness out of nothing, but for when you like to swing hard onto the ball and know what to expect. However, it might not play very precise for line painting with its big sweetspot. Great frame though, grants confidence, and can spin the ball well enough

Gravity Pro is a great deal and the new version is basically the same. I didn't care for this gen of Prestiges... specs and naming became strange. Prestiges used to be heavy and maneuverable from what I recall/what I used, but now they're kinda just log like with a heavy balance. I'm sure they play well with thinner strings..

Gravity Pro will be a little heavier than the Prestige MP but with Head QC it's always a coin flip. IMO most people would be best served getting a slightly underspec Gravity Pro as it's a great racquet but for some people like me it gets a little tiring to swing for more than 45 minutes.

Playing like a caveman and hitting the ball hard and flat prestige all the way, you want to play some strategic tennis with some spin maybe adding in some defensive all-court tennis gravity works so much better. The Prestige has a feel that is perfect for heavy flat hitters and is so much cleaner on volleys stock. Gravity is the more technical frame if you want to win matches.

I recently tested extensively both the Gravity Pro and the Prestige Pro Auxetic in the past months. I can confirm the other feedbacks on the frames. In very simple terms, the GPro is more forgiving, gives a better access to spin and is a great versatile frame. Prestige Pro has a better feel, especially for flatter shots and volleys, is less forgiving (and looks stunning IMO). Both require a learning curve/adjustment period. Excellent frames. Personally think I'm not strong enough to consistently play better or even as well with the Prestige than with the Gravity. You should test them both with your favorite string setup and see for yourself. Enjoy!

Did you test the other Gravity versions in the MP/Tour?

No I haven't. I generally prefer frames that are around 340g strung, headlight, quite flexible, thin beam, tighter pattern. Played mostly with midsize racquets and currently trying to migrate to more forgiving headsizes. And got tired of tuning and heavily customizing frames, now preferring starting out with a frame that is closer to my preferred specs in stock form. Gpro really fits well overall, but it took me several sessions to get used to the way the bigger/tear drop head felt through the air.
