Hi guys,

im struggling with my thoughts a Little bit and it would be interesting what you think.

Im a Level 3.5 player. My current Match Racket is a 2024 Extreme Pro.

Im not really a topspin hitter, but i do like groundstrokes.

I tested the new Gravity Tour and Pro mainly because im in love with the Design.

Turns out. I really like both of them.
I had leathergrips on the Extreme pro, so weight of the Gravity Pro is Not the Problem.

My Point is.. everyone says the Pro is Hard to Hit… for better Players etc…

So im still thinking if im good enough for the pro.

The MP is too light

any thoughts?

I'm going to undoubtedly go against the flow and tell you if you're a rec player who plays for fun it doesn't matter, play with what you enjoy playing with more. Just consider the differences between each racket such as launch angles, spin, forgiveness, power, ect. and how they impact your game and enjoyment of tennis. Pick the racket that makes you enjoy playing the game more. Swing weights can be very similar depending on QC. My Pros are 324. The biggest difference will be head size and string pattern.

I don’t believe the Gravity Pro or Tour 98 is a good fit for a 3.5 or anyone under 4.5 level.

The GT98 gives you free power but is still requiring a good footwork and preparation to get the best out of it.
I’d suggest the MP instead, if the PJ is what attracts you to the Gravity line.
The Pro is even more demanding,

How does the launch angle of the Pro compare to the Tour? For me the Tour was the highest missile launcher of any 16x19 98 I've ever tried. Too much for me.

I would get the MP and customise it to your satisfaction. That way you can get the racquet you want.
The Pro, well it’s already up there with the SW and the Tour to me is a bit,” rocks and diamonds “, in how it plays. In fact I have noticed this trait in quite a few of the Head silos including Boom and Extreme, so I would go MP and customise,

MP and Pro have different string patterns, beam thickness, and flex. Can't imagine the MP could be a platform racquet substitute for the Pro.

Can anyone describe the difference in launch angle of the Pro compared to the Tour? Not interested in MP. The Tour is a high missile launcher for me.

IMO everyone should forget about the weight of the 2025 Gravity line. The Pro is now the same swing weight as the Blade. The GT98 is basically the same. Leaves room to customize. And I can't understand dismissing the MP because it's too complicated to stick a little lead tape on the hoop. I'd never before played with a 100" frame and the Pro with that string pattern is pretty brilliant IMO. For me it plays like a more controllable GT98 but with slightly better feel and hardly any loss of power. Pretty interchangeable with the 16x19 Blade, but offers a little more pop and forgiveness without sacrificing control. Late to the party on the Gravity Pro. I get it now.

I would just say use what is more fun to hit with. It’s all about getting better while having fun, and you don’t want a stick that’s pretty but difficult to control and handle. If Pro feels good to you & brings you the enjoyment, go for it, especially if you’re playing against similarly skilled players. Same goes for the Tour 98. Whichever frame that makes you smile more, that should be the one.

/\ THIS!
No one on here earns their living by winning prize money at tennis tournaments, so we should be doing this for fun.
If you go into each of your matches with this mindset, you’d be amazed how well you can just focus on your game and enjoy
Your tennis.

it's a few months later. this thread has been quiet.

The GT98, I really don't see it as a missile launcher, and I'm no Rafa.
Moderately spinny FH and flattish BH wing.

if you get low, take the ball early, and follow through with your elbow coming all the way around,
you can find the control to harness a somewhat open swing pattern.
if you fail to do that, is it the racquets fault?
don't you WANT to improve your game and remember to do those things all the time?
this racquet talks to you. the feel if PNENOMINAL. so good at touch shots, net play, BOTH WINGS.

@eric42 has shared some nice insights.

has anyone recently played these two frames back to back?
The GT has a much higher TW so I imagine volleys feel better with it?
if you have or had a GP25, what were the on courts specs (with overgrip)
I assume 334-335 static and 32cm? 328 SW?

I played with the prev generation GP before finding the 97D and loved these two for a solid four months before I started to feel they were too heavy.
then I came back to 305 frames and I'm currently maining with the GT98.
But I am curious about the new GP b/c I LUV this new PJ and the feel has improved with this gen, IMO.

cheers
