Great Article on Fed-Nadal Rivalry

No, it means I'm not going to communicate with people who can't accept others opinions. You obviously can't, and you express that with insults and personal attacks. You don't deserve my reply. Proof here. :-)

If you call that "insult" and "personal attack", better avoid the forums. Because you will find much worse. I understand why you want to leave. :)

It is an insult AND a personal attack, and I will make my own decisions whether to leave or stay. I appreciate your concern though, I really do.

I guess you missed all the posts where I defended Nadal in. Oh wait, you're only a member since December 2009. Kind of explains your attitude as well.

Indeed, worst moment possible. Unbelievable bashing. I memorized some names one after another. :)

Holmes: Blimey O'Riley! I didn't even read this thread as I suspected it to be much of the same..... Only to see Augustus, TLW leaving (banned?) and P Agony saying his/her goodbyes to an extent....????

Watson: What with the drivel here recently, we thought of doing much the same. However, there are solid, respectable posters here, albeit outnumbered by ****s. As long as they're here, we'll continue.... (much to the annoyance of the those ****s ;) )

It'll be a shame to see you gone, I love your writing style and I enjoy reading your posts. TLW and Augustus are fine posters as well. The problem is this board has become the land of the troll and the decent posters are too few. Used to really enjoy this place.

Holmes: The appreciation is mutual. The irony is that once the good guys are gone, the trolls will not be able to play their games with each other (for want of a better phrase). They'll soon realise that their very existence is dependent on their opposites - as is often the case in life.

Watson: Either way, we wish you every success in your writing. If this forum is a standard to measure that success by, you will be more than content in the future :)

Thanks :-)

I agree, trolls trolling against each other would be...boring.

..that is according to you.

Well, if his arrogance hurts his fans, what about Nadal's injuries? Federer's fans were so spoiled rooting for a player who suffered from such a ridiculously low amount of injuries for a top athlete that they are not even able to imagine what the others go through (starting every tournament expecting the worse, hoping that the injury is another one he will be able to overcome, wondering how much more time he will be able to play).
If the fear of Federer's fans concerning his arrogant statements is comparable to that, yes, Federer's fans were really too spoiled by their player. So spoiled that they suffer for ridiculous things.

This thread is now about baby hedgehogs.

And strawberries and cream.

Cute and tasty!

Finally this thread has some direction and purpose!

The injuries? Yes, A LOT!

Edit: You edited your post, like you often do. I was replying to the first version: "I would ask you the same question" or something like that.
So just because you feel hurt people shouldn't post what they think while you can go posting whatever you want.
Whatever..my point stands.Pot calling kettle black.

Of course, you can post what you want. And I can think it's a particularly vicious attack to suggest that a top player who proved how professional he is could withdraw from a tournament without a good reason or that he simulates an injury each time he calls the trainer.

Thanks :-)

I think some of us need to learn to be tolerant. And to learn to ignore silly trollish posts - at least not to get worked up or take them seriously. No need to leave the forum due to some troll.
To me it shows too much sensitivity - and i mean sensitivity in a negative sense. Too much "touchiness" perhaps.

Lighten up, folks, and stay on.

You do have a point, but most posters here, whether they like it or not, take these stuff seriously. Sports fans usually do. It's funny that when I first came to post here I thought this was one of the most civil forums in the internet. Maybe I was blind because I'm a Fed fan and the majority of the thread were pro-Fed, but it sure felt like that to me. I think the troll level nowdays are beyond what they used to be, there are more trolls than good posters and that's a problem.

But like I said, you have a point and I agree for the most part. I'm giving everything another shot.

From what I understand,

Fed is a grass court player

Nadal is a clay court player

I wonder if both play on a hard court, who will be a winner of challenge.

PS. I am still a newbie

Tina

Dear Tina,
they've already played on a hard court and Nadal won (AO 2009). Nadal has 5 titles/finals at RG and 4 finals of which 2 titles at W. He's both a clay and grass court player (he has also beaten Fed at W in 2008).

I wonder how this can possibly be considered a "great" article since the author completely dismisses Nadals win over federer on a slow hard court (miami) and on a fast hardcourt (dubai). The author is clearly biased, i remember reading one of his articles before monte carlo began this year. This same writer said that James Blake could beat Nadal on clay and that nadal would "fold" against blake. Lol

No, he said he was 100% before Wimbly, and when he lost his match he used injuries as an excuse, which was quite funny to me as just days before he said he never felt better. Last yeear he also used the preemptive excuse making method quite a few times. He excused his losses on injuries before they even happenned, just in case.

To me you're kind of splitting hairs here.

What Reversef is saying is that some people say what ever they want to say about Nadal, and then expect others to respect Fed. It doesn't work that way. You can't throw stones and expect someone not to throw stones back.

After his loss in Halle, Fed said he was happy with his level of play and was unworried by it heading into Wimbledon. He said his level was fine. After the loss, he said he had been troubled by injuries.

So what's the difference in what you feel Nadal did? To me, it's similar, only Nadal has a known history of injuries. Fed doesn't, so imo, his statements seem more dubious since the injuries sprang out of nowhere.

No kidding? And those guys get paid for what they write? Unreal!

Also Fed has scoffed at players for playing while not 100% fit. He's the one demanding that standard, so every time he complains about his leg, back and what not after a loss (and yeah it goes wayyyyyy back to 2004 when he blamed his loss to Rafa in Miami on a cold (:???:) he exposes his own hypocrisy and double standards and he's gonna be nailed for that, totally normal.
Rafa has never expressed that players should be 100%. Actually he has expressed the much more sensible opinion that players are like race cars, always being pushed to the limits, so of course they "break" often.
If Fed wants to dish it, then he'll have to eat it. THAT's the way it works!
