Have you ever seen so bad line judges in your life? They have made so many bad calls that its quite embarassing. I guess they couldnt afford to get people who can see so instead they hired blind people from nursing home.
 
Huge Delpo fan here but I honestly thought it'll be over in 3 sets, 4 tops in favor of Murray. Definitely did not expect to see a match as tight as this one, so no matter what happens, I'm happy to see Delpo playing so well.
 
If Murray intends to play doubles then he really really needs Edmund to win tonight. Delpo is not losing to Edmund and this match is going to take a lot out of him even if he does manage to win it.
 
Its official now that Delpo is never going to hit powerful backhands again. That shot is technically so poor and because of it he just misses them bottom of the net. Its a shame, he could have been something in Tennis.

He obviously can progress far in tournaments as he has proven, but there is always someone to expose that weakness. It just depends players form on the day.
 
Murray doing it again. Fatiguing himself not only over meaningless tripe, but meaningless tripe that he has already won. A big reason why he went out of US Open. Unless he starts planning his schedule better, I fear he could end up in a similar situation to what Nadal is in now.

1) Juan Martin Del Potro is a big thing in tennis, and no surgical operation can ever take that away from him.

2) You don't know that. He's rightfully worried about hitting his backhand, but he's vastly improved since Delray Beach in February. He lobed everything back on the backhand side then, it was pitiful. Much better now, albeit still insufficient to perform at best level over 5 sets.
I still think it'll improve to decent backhands.
But his forehand has become something out of this world.

Yeah... i know he likes to support team GB but he won the damn thing for them pretty much single-handedly already. He's done his duty and should focus on the main tour now. Olympic games was different because that was a huge deal and it paid off for him being a two-time gold medalist but he's wasting his time here. I wanted him to have a strong US open and him to have a strong end of season after his run but he's screwing himself right now.
 
Critical for Team GB's chances now that Edmund beats Pella. If not, this tie is Argentina's. Murray will probably beat Pella in the reverse singles but there is no way Edmund will beat Del Potro.

Oh well, with the responsibility of Davis Cup now off his shoulders for this year, maybe Murray can focus on the other end of year tournaments for a change especially the WTF.
 
Very surprised to se Delpo up on Andrew in a fifth set. Supremely well executed tank to avoid the hassle of DC?
 
Murray did not tank here, Delpo is just playing well. Also this match has just hit the 5hour mark. 5 hours. Ridiculous.

Yeah, kudos to del pietro. His one-two punch and forehand in general has been astonishing from what I've seen this set. Didn't think his as-of-recently somewhat suspect fitness would hold up in a fifth tho.
 
If there's anyone I'd want Murray to lose to, Del Potro would be the man.

He brings so much to tennis. No sour grapes here.
