She's already made semis when she was not such a player, so I believe that will make second week easily. My guess is that she will have a meh Wimbledon (maybe even an early exit), but will have a shot at the USO.

Am I the only one that thinks she's super attractive. I just dig her body and her smile.
Let see. Halep is confident now and she doesn't have that burden of #1 on her chest.

Winning % out of active players? Some Halep stats:
Halep follows in the footsteps of greats - the key stats
- Halep is the fourth woman to win a Grand Slam after losing at least three previous finals - following Kim Clijsters, Chris Evert and Jana Novotna
- She is the second Romanian woman to win a Grand Slam title, after Virginia Ruzici's victory at Roland Garros in 1978
- Halep is the 27th different woman in the Open era to win the Roland Garros title
- Only seven women have taken longer than Halep (33 attempts) to win their maiden Grand Slam title
- Halep won the Roland Garros girls' singles in 2008 and is only the sixth player to do so, then win the women's title
- Halep has 24 career wins and nine defeats at Roland Garros. Only Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Svetlana Kuznetsova have a higher winning percentage.

Pick what??????????Wonder if she or any of the women other than Mugu have gone to Rafa for advice over the years? Would make sense to pick the brains of the master of this surface.
I think Haelp might win both Wimbledon and US open this year

That’s hard to do for someone who just won her maiden slam. However, of all the ladies who won the first slam, she has the best chance. The USO is her next slam to win in my view, but who knows what she can do at Wimbledon.I think Haelp might win both Wimbledon and US open this year
Opponent injury and mental lapses aside, Halep is not that kind of player.
What she's been waiting for since she first started playing. Can she win as many French opens as Chris Evert did ? Simona is modern day Chris Evert, I believe.
Agreed - smoking hot...Cracking body....
I really like her, so I hop she can get to 6-8 majors or so.

Wimbledon no, but USO maybe. I've always thought USO is attainable for her...

French Open champion Simona Halep has pulled out of next week's Nature Valley International in Eastbourne, England, as she looks to regain full fitness ahead of Wimbledon.
World No. 1 Halep, 26, ended her long wait for a maiden Grand Slam title with the French Open triumph this month but said she suffered an Achilles tendon injury during the tournament.
"I'm very sorry to announce that I'm withdrawing from next week's Nature Valley International," Halep said in a statement posted on Twitter Wednesday.
"I was experiencing Achilles tendon pain and inflammation during the French Open and it has yet to fully recover. I've been advised by my doctors that it needs more rest while continuing treatment.
"I loved competing in Eastbourne last year and hope to see you at this wonderful event next year."
Halep is bidding to make her eighth appearance at Wimbledon, which begins on July 2.
