Greatest HC match of 21st century in terms of peak quality

IMO.,... Nadal vs Verdasco AO2009, Nadal vs Djokovic USO 2011(peak quality was unreal in this match), Fed vs Safin05AO,Fed Vs Nadal 09AO, Djokovic vs Wawrinka 2013AO

Although Nadal Verdasco was a fun match, we need to remember how many short balls Rafa gifted to him. If Novak had been on the other side of the net, I would say he would have beat Verdasco in a tight 4set match at Max. And Weirdly I feel like 2012 Nadal for instance could have handled 2013 Stan better than Novak did. Does any of you share the same feeling?! Match-up struggles are really something you can't fathom well.

Anyway my pick is Novak Vs Stan in 2013.

The Nadal v Verdasco AO09 match was just crazy.

Djokovic v Wawrinka AO13 also off the charts.

Nadal v Federer AO09 minus the 5th set - geez if Fed had kept it going in the 5th it would've been #1.

Federer v Safin AO05

Agassi v Sampras US01

They mostly happened at the AO...

It's not weird at all. Nadal is a terrible match-up for Stan even more than he was for Fed.

Among the ones mentioned:

Safin-Fed AO 05 1st
Nadal-Dasco AO 09 2nd
Nadal-Fed AO 09 3rd
Djoko-Wawa AO 13 4th

Others:

Agassi Safin AO 04 SF
Roddick-El Ayanoui AO 03 QF

first 2 sets of fed-roddick USO 07 QF

I liked the AO '07 SF, AO '13 SF, AO '08 SF, USO '04 F, and AO '05 F in terms of watching a player truly ascend to heights that tennis rarely reaches if ever.

We don't have to think in terms of peak quality between two players.

The AO is probably the premiere hard court slam of the 21st century. I'm a patriotic American saying that, but from a TV spectator standpoint, something about Laver Arena seems perfectly oriented toward exhibiting pure tennis of the highest quality, whereas Ashe Stadium feels off in some turbulent, sporadic way.

AO has been the best slam in general for a while, IMO, besides the 2022 fiasco.

As for peak quality, I'd go for the AO 2009 final, which included several of the best points and arguably the best point in history.

Dont know what happened to Verdaco at AO 2009 but he did beat Murray (one of the favorites that year) and a well playing Tsonga before facing Nadal. According to him, some encouraging words from Agassi and spending time with Gil Reyes did wonders to his mentality and physical fitness. His serve and forehand were to behold those two weeks.
