I know I can't expect newcomers to have read everything, but my ranking (or really a big amalgam of several rankings and findings from me and other posters over more than a decade now) incorporates the effects of poly (and height) on 1st-serve %s, the relative strength of 1st vs. 2nd serves, and just about everything else you can expect of. I suggest you guys check out some of the links in my OP before chiming in.

Bill Tilden, At fourth rubber of 1927 Challenge Round, hurled 12 clean aces in five service games in first set vs. Rene Lacoste.

just read in Al Laney, Covering the Court, Simon and Schuster, 1968, p. 161

no further details other than the service was about equally effective in second set and into the third but effectiveness had declined by fourth set in the loss.
