Agreed and that's the problem. Nobody else seems able to stop them even though they are the old men in the draw now :)

Let people enjoy their nostalgia and you have to admit, Federer and Nadal have played amazing tennis this year. This is probably their last run together, where they are both playing great at the same time and winning majors, so I can understand the somewhat gushing and excitement. Djokovic will be back and based on the comments Roger made today he is almost demanding for him to get his **** together and come back. He says he is too good to keep playing like this and will win more majors so I thought that was nice touch from Roger.

I was searching on the internet, and I found this list that seems to be more or less accurate:
https://howtheyplay.com/individual-sports/Top-10-Greatest-Male-Tennis-Players-of-All-Time

But then I found this list of Ranker.com: http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/greatest-mens-tennis-players-of-all-time

Is this last list fair? I think it must be too old. McEnroe over Djokovic with 7 Slams? Sampras over Rafa without French Open and 14 Slams?
Another 'GOAT' thread ?

Thank you.

Agreed, NoleFam! Federer and Nadal are playing brilliant tennis. Roger is a class act and I hope Djokovic can take something from these positive remarks.

Well I wasn't speaking literally. It's not meant as a dig at Laver, just saying we can't compare eras like this.

Laver in the 60s with wooden racket against todays equipment, training etc against a top 20 player? Would be tough to get points

You are really a troll: One on side you (any many other trolls here) claim that we cannot compare eras but in the SAME moment you (and many other followers of the current tennis) claim that the modern players would destroy Laver and Rosewall and perhaps also Connors. Do you see the contradiction? If we cannot compare, how do we know that the modern players are stronger???

It's crazy to letting play Laver with wood and Federer with the modern equipment in one match! Of course both players must have the same equipment because the modern rackets favour a player.

No question that Mac was a tennis genius, second only in talent to Roger. But it does matter in tennis history how much he won as compared to other ATG's. There's no conceivable way we can put John McEnroe ahead of Djokovic on any sane list of great players. There's no comparison between their careers. Mac stopped winning majors when he was 25 and never made a dent in the game after marrying Tatum. That's just the sad fact of it.

Djoker has 12 majors, and a CGS. Mac has his genius, 3 Wimbledon's and 4 USO's, as well as being the greatest Doubles player anyone has probably ever seen. But he's nowhere near the career accomplishments of Novak.

BeatlesFan, Hoad and Rosewall (and maybe others were greater doubles players than McEnroe.

ibbi, You and other trolls use to say that tennis at the top increases from decade to decade. I just brought a good counter argument (only oldies on the top now).
Before you go calling other people trolls, please point me to the place I ever said any such thing and I'll answer your idiotic question. Until then I'm just going to go stand in the corner until you go away, because there doesn't seem to be much point in conversing with someone intent on getting you to answer for things he imagines you said rather than the things you actually did. Go play crazy with someone else.

Don't worry, anybody who doesn't agree with a false premise that Rosewall is the GOAT is a troll by default, according to The Visionary.

Martin J, You are wrong. Firstly I have two GOATs, Laver and Rosewall. Secondly I respect people who don't rate Rosewall a GOAT. I only have difficulties with guys like Limpinhitter who ranks Rosewall at No.18 and with many, many posters in the General PPD forum who never heard about a Tilden or Gonzalez or Rosewall or who think that Berdych would destroy Laver 6-0, 6-0, 6-0. Thirdly, My rankings are not false. Fourthly I only call posters trolls who provide absurd statements.

Best wishes from the Vienna visionary.
