Grip change Q

Legend
As my FH grip goes further west and my 1H BH grip goes
deeper into far east, I started to entertain this thought
of using same face for both FH and BH al la Baresategi.

I still have to change grip but it's just shorter distance
if I rotate my right hand grip counter clockwise (rotating
racquet handle clockwise).

As I know it's not "conventional". What are the pros and cons
of using the same face of racquet head for both FH and BH ?
(with a slight grip change...)

Thanks,
FD

same side of racquet forehand and backhand

Using the same side of the racquet for forehand and backhand is the traditional Western style. The only disadvantages I've ever heard of are those pertaining to western grips in general.

Getting the BH grip around to an Eastern Backhand grip is good for solid strokes and topspin. But, try to go too far around and you'll leave your elbow in front of the shot which is a major cause of "tennis elbow". Have a USPTA pro look and your shots and grips and make sure your not harming you body.

I have semi-western FH grip. So I still have to change grip
a little bit even if I use the same side of a racquet.
I'm just feeling "unnatural" to twist the racquet handle
clockwise, preparing BH.

Twisting racquet counter-clockwise to prepare FH is somwhat
unnatural motion. In the same sense, twisting clockwise to
prepare BH(grip change) isn't unnatural ?

Thanks,
FD

I used to play with the same racquet face for FH and BH many moons ago. The only real con I noticed was that really low balls required an even more extreme grip change and that my strings broke much sooner than they used to. I did notice that such a grip made it easier to hit balls on the rise right after the bounce. It just felt real natural to hit the ball off the bounce with that grip off both sides. As my grips have become more conventional, that skill has remained intact on the forehand side.
