Grip Size Question

Hi,

I am a 47 year old, 4.5+ player. I have been playing with the Prince OS Graphite and then Graphite Tour for the last 20+ years. I am th point where I want to try a bit lighter frame and a smaller grip. I play w/a 4 5/8 grip with overwrap and was curious if what the Top 4 grip sizes are for the men on the tour?

I heard:
Nadal is 4 1/4
Federer at 4 3/8

any one know what the most common grip size is?
Thanks,
Brian

It really depends on the size of your hand, not Nadal's- and what works for you, not Federer.

If you are curious, get some demo rackets of various sizes, or check out those of your friends and see what you like for yourself.

There is no "one size fits all" answer for this question.

Depends on your style of play, also.
I'm old school S/V, don't swing too fast, hit relatively flat, and use 5/8 with an overgrip.
I've tried plenty of 3/8's with overgrips, and while they're OK for bashing topspin from the baseline, and OK for serves, they serve no purpose for volleying and blocking the ball whatsoever. Just more torque, and need for new sticky grips.
Some big servers tell me they use small grips for more power, some 6'2" and 220 lbs.
We go on the court, my serves, at 5'11" and under 150, go just as fast with big grips.
They DO pound baseline groundies with more aggression, but maybe they're my level, but 30 years younger.
As said, try it.
